We used to park at the Park n Go at the beginning of the runway.

So, do you head for the airport and park? And they have shuttles? Do you need a reservation? And (last one) what's the cost?

I was able to find Park & Go, but the site didn't seem to want to work for me.

We have parked 4 times at the Park & Go at 2535 Pacific Highway. It is less than 2 miles from the port (approx. 10 minutes). We make online reservations to confirm they will have a space for us (we did get there once when they were full, but they had a space for us). Don't worry about the online coupon date. They are updated all the time.

There is a shuttle that runs every 10 minutes or so.

There is a coupon on the Park & Go site for $11/day. Go through the link below to get to the Park & Go website.

Here is another website that lists all of the long term parking lots: http://www.longtermparking.com/california.htm#SDA

The last time we needed parking (May of this year), Park 'n Go was full, so tried calling Aladdin Parking at Kettner & Laurel. They don't advertise cruise pier service, but they do offer it and it worked out great. They brought up a separate shuttle just for the pier, so we didn't have to tour the airport first. Reservations are recommended (http://www.aladdinparking.com/), depending on the day of the week you're leaving.

Park & Go also goes directly to the port. Never had to go to the airport before being dropped off at the pier.

From Alladin as well as Park & Go, it's a 1.5 mile, 20 minute walk to the cruise dock. Most of the walk is along the waterfront past the marina and Maritime Museum. Why not drop off everyone and luggage at the dock, park the car, and walk back? It's probably faster and more pleasant than the shuttle if you don't have mobility problems. This gets the metabolic "pre-burn" started in preparation for the embarkation lunch, too! :)
