Falmouth Jamaica beach or A/I daypass info

Will be there next month 7-4. Never been before and hoping for info for nice beach option. Chairs food etc. A/I day pass ok too.

Check out resort for a day. We used them a couple weeks ago. Awesome day.

Dr Caves beach was amazing. Beautiful and has everything on your checklist.

I second Doctor's Cave. Were there last week. Not a large beach, but some shade available, nice beach, decent snorkeling with some nice coral heads, a bar with friendly food and drink service.

So how do you get to Dr's Cave beach from Falmouth, please? I thought it was too far to taxi.

JaiTal runs buses, also can hire a private car from them, board within the cruise enclave.

Doctors Cave beach is in Montego Bay. It's about a 25 minute ride (give or take 10 minutes). You can taxi or take a tour there from Falmouth.

Any idea how much cab would be?

Last week some people in our group went to Iberostar Rose Hall. 65.00 plus cab. They loved it.

Were there 2 weeks ago, used JaiTal tours private car for 4 for $35 pp, pickup in the cruise port enclosure, fee included $6 admission to Dr's Cave beach. JaiTal also operates buses for $20 pp round trip. About a 30 minute ride.

Ours was from Falmouth, Montego Bay port is closer.

15 minutes from Montego Bay port. 25-30 minute from Falmouth.

Resorts for a day let us down on our 2013-2014 New Years Sailing on the Breeze. Booked the AI to Jewel. Van never returned to pick us up for return to the ship. Didn't answer the phone as departure time approached. Resort personnel were accommodating in calling a cab. Extra $35 to cab back to the port was inconvenient. What really set me off was the lack of any response to my post - cruise written complaint. Won't use them again. Had a great time at Jewel though. Highly recommend. Just leave a little time for alternative transportation back to the port.

Has anyone responded to the distance from Falmouth to Jewel?? I'm wondering if you dock at Falmouth and take the resort for a day to Jewel, how much time do you actually get at the resort??

The best I could tell is that if you use their transportation only about 4 hours. If you use your own probably like 5 1/2 not enough to make it worth while for me.

Deluxe motor coach transportation is included from the cruise ports of Ocho Rios or Falmouth Jamaica. The resort is a convenient 30 minute ride from the port of Ocho Rios and a 40 minute ride from the port of Falmouth. The shuttle departs 45 minutes after your cruise ship arrival time and picks you back up 2 hours prior to your cruise ship departure time. For ships arriving before 8:30am, the transfer will depart at 9:15am.

Thinking of going to Doctor's Cave Beach in the next few weeks while we are there, does anyone know if the water drops off? I am not the best swimmer so for sure would like to know this information. Thanks.

can you just get off the ship in Falmouth and grab a cab to doctors Cave? Also, last time we were there the chairs were horrid. Do they have actual loungers now instead of crappy deck chairs?
