Does anyone have any info on this hotel for a pre-cruise night? Is the area safe? Is there restaurants around to have dinner?

That's our favorite hotel to stay at down there! It's extremely clean and directly across the street from just about everything you'd need. We have seen many people walking to and from those stores/dinner etc.

We've usually stayed at the Springhill Suites--which is in a cluster with this one at Stirling Road at the freeway ext...

The area has always felt plenty safe--though maybe a bit dull--though all we've ever wanted to do is to recover from a long flight and relax before the cruise...

There are a few fast food places right in front of the hotels on Stirling--a Burger King, Chipotle...and, across Stirling, a McDonalds and Taco Bell...

Behind that is a large shopping center--anchored by KMart and BJs...At the other end of that center are several sit-down restaurants--including Hollywood Ale House, a diner, Red Lobster, a Salad Bar, TGI Fridays and Sal's Italian...

Last visit, we ate at Sal's--a chain, but a local chain--one we don't have where we live--Do a google search on them and you'll find coupons on their website...Hollywood Ale House has a decent selection for dinner...

So, lots of choices...It's a fairly long walk through the center, but, it's not bad as you can shop or browse through stores along the way...

...and, yes, Stirling is a very busy thoroughfare, so be careful crossing...

Anytime you are not a victim, the area is safe. Now what are the probabilities you will be safe depends on the crime rate where you are. Law enforcement agencies divide areas into "reporting districts" referred to as RD's.

Contact the Broward County Sheriffand ask them what the crime rate is in that RD compared to other comparable RD"s.:):)
