Rome hotel recommendations?

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Valadier. Short walk to the Spanish Steps area, great Ital restaurant next door. Roof top bar/lounge. Just try not to get a lower floor street facing room as the street is full of restaurants/bars and has a lively (noisy) night scene. Would happily stay there again.

Highly recommend Albergo del Senato - so close to the Pantheon you can almost reach out and touch it, yet surprisingly quiet (esp. upper floor rooms) and in great central location, within walking distance of Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. No dining room but does have a breakfast room, free WiFi, and rooftop bar, and plenty of very good restaurants nearby.

Unequivocally second the motion on Albergo del Senato! We loved it. Perfect location. Rooftop bar, as CD said, reach out and touch the Pantheon but close to all the major sites. Wonderful staff.
