Saint John, Canada

Recommended Posts

We rented a car (within a short walking distance from the ship) and drove to St. Martins first. There we walked out to the sea caves in low tide. We then drove the Bay of Fundy Trail which had some beautiful views, a waterfall, and a foot bridge. On our way back through St. Martins we stopped again and saw the higher tides. The areas where we had just walked a few hours before were completely covered and boats that were sitting in the mud were now floating. We then had plenty of time afterward to check out the little market right outside the ship. It was a trip our whole family enjoyed.

Our daughter was 11 when we were they and she talks about going to the candy store "Freak Lunchbox". We had a great time walking around the downtown area. We took a quick tour of the Bay of Fundy when the tide as coming in. It's a nice little town.

We will be in Saint John for one day. Any suggestions for an 11 year old boy??????

I don't know how adventurous your 11 year old is, but there is a nice little zoo in Saint John (short cab ride away) called Cherry Brook Zoo--we had a lot of fun there last year. We also enjoy the Freak Lunchbox and walking around the city. Word of wisdom, I'd start at the city market and use their escalators and elevators to get up because the hills are quite steep.

That's kind of what we did too.

At St. Martins, the restaurant there had excellent sea chowder, but it was expensive too.

Do bring watershoes to walk on the rocky beach there.
