Info Long Beach

I am wondering if anyone knows if there are restaurants or any type stores around the Hotel Maya in Long Beach? Also can a person walk to the ship from there? Thanks

First, it's a fairly easy walk from the Maya to the Carnival terminal as long as your luggage isn't unwieldy..

There is a restaurant next to the Maya, but, for the most part, you are on the wrong side of the channel for restaurants, shopping, etc. On that side of the channel, you have the Maya, the Residence Inn, the Queen Mary and the Carnival terminal...everything else is port-related industrial....

However, you can pick up the FREE Passport shuttle right at the hotel...and it will take you over the bridge to the Aquarium, Shoreline Village and Pine Avenue--where you will find a large assortment of restaurants and tourist-related shopping and nice areas to walk around...

It is about a mile from the Maya to the pier.

Per Google Maps, it's 0.8 miles walking...just along the waterfront --past the Reef Restaurant, Harry Bridges Park and the Queen Mary...EASY walk with rolling luggage...no streets to cross...

Or you could take the Passport bus--it's just the one stop in that direction (To the pier)...

Or the hotel may shuttle you as well...

I believe, if you ask at the desk, the Maya will even shuttle you to Downtown Long Beach to restaurants and attractions--in case you don't want to rely on the Passport...

The Maya has a shuttle.

The Passport runs a loop. The Maya is after the Queen Mary so you'd have to do the full circle to get to the pier. Many restaurants and the Aquarium are along the Passport route.

The Maya itself has a nice restaurant with some good happy hour food and drinks.

There is one other large restaurant nearby that you can walk to across the street called,The Reef:

For other restaurants there is a free shuttle that goes over the causeway into downtown Long Beach.

For our one night stays before cruising we have not bothered to go into downtown but of course you may wish to do so.
