Restaurants near SF Best Western The Tuscan

Recommended Posts

We are staying here for a few days pre-cruise and are looking for reasonably priced breakfast restaurants as well as a moderately priced good seafood restaurant. Any recommdndations? Thank you!

About a 2 blocks from you on Beach St is an IHop.

If you don't mind driving, there are few places in the Marina District along Lombard Street (the straight part). Another IHOP, Mel's Diner (remember American Graffiti), Home Plate Restaurant. One block north on Chestnut are a few really small places, just look for the lines outside.

For seafood you're located in Fisherman's Wharf so you can try Alioto's (sidewalk crab cocktails), Sabella La Torre, and Scoma's. Or venture into Chinatown for seafood Chinese style at R&G Lounge on Kearny.

Have a nice stay

just remember when you look at the prices...we have a high minimum wage, mandatory health insurance and you are in some of the priciest real estate in the country.

I would expect to spend $15-20 for breakfast. and seafood....$20-30 per entree

Our Ghirardelli sundae had added sales tax and 4% health insurance tax.

check sfgate's listings of places to eat. many places close to there.. or a very cheap taxi/bus ride away. avoid the chains..there are plenty of good local places to eat. north beach is close as is the marina district.

While I know it isn't the best seafood restaurant in San Francisco, we've always enjoyed Pompei's Grotto, and for the last twenty or so years we make sure we have either lunch or dinner there once each time we are in San Francisco.

Also, it is great fun to take one of the ferries over to Sausalito and have lunch at the Scoma's there.

And while it isn't a seafood restaurant per se we've enjoyed meals at Fior d'Italia. It isn't located on the harbor, but then they are not paying the harbor view rent prices either.
