OC SeaPA Posted August 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2016 Looking for a "long-weekend" to Cuba (Havana), but all I can find is 7 day extensive/expensive tours. Anyone know of a Miami travel agency that does these? Travel still looks pretty restrictive, but so many are now going there must be something out there. Not interested in the Carnival/Fathom- want to just stay in Havana for a more relaxing, more in-depth visit.

Locals will tell you that Cuba still doesn't have the infrastructure to handle the tourism. That said, maybe Sharon can help you?
eandj Posted August 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2016 A friend of mine wanted to do something like you mention. But found it not yet available. Still restrictive. You might check into this and some of the links. Perhaps in 2017? http://gocaribbean.about.com/od/cuba/ss/How-to-Travel-to-Cuba-If-You-Are-an-American.htm
royalcruz Posted August 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2016 Look at CubaExplorer.com. They offer very reasonably priced short weekend trips compared to others. Cuba trips are tour-intensive and I would not describe the itineraries as relaxing.

All visits by US citizens must be educational group tours. I'm sure this will change soon but still the law for now.
