Smaller day sail tour option in St Martin?

We have previously done smaller day sail tours on other islands. Not the large catamarans, but smaller sail boats. Typically take 6-8 people + crew. Does anyone know of a similar option on St Martin? All I can seem to find is the large over crowded catamarans.

I've seen Capt Bob's, but this is more of a speed boat. We are looking for a large sail boat type of experience preferably.

Thanks in advance.

Great question. I do not know of boats like the herd of them at Red Hook on St Thomas that offer nice day sails on plus or minus 36 monohulls with capts that help you find a few other people if needed. I never really thought about how different the day sail market is in Saint Martin from Saint Thomas.

I suggest that you call (or email if you are shy) the Sint Maarten Sailing School - I know that they have at least one 36 monohull for charter (Moon Dance)- it is the middle link in what crewsweeper posted above.

Just noticed that you said "large" - if large is OK, then I do recommend Random Wind - which I think is 50 something. crewsweeper gave you that link too.

Random Wind is EXACTLY what we are looking for! I have sent them an email and fingers crossed they have availability. We are actually visiting St Martin as a land vacation this time so have several dates we can choose from. Fingers crossed.

Thank you again!

You'll probably find this too big but we enjoy the Golden Eagle cat sail out of Philipsburg. Great day with an excellent crew. When staying on SXM we especially like the Friday Farewell all-day tour that circumnavigates the island with a lonch stop in Grand Case and hopefully an exfoliation stop on Tintamarre. The itineraries may have changed, but on both the 1/2 sail on a cruise stop and the full day we enjoyed a small group and a nice day.
