SS Excursions vs Oceania

Have been on several SS cruises now and I find the shore excursions reasonable. There is an itinerary that we like from Oceania but when I previously have looked at O their S.E. seem really expensive. Any comments from those that may have traveled on O?

My wife and I have done 6 Silversea Cruises and 5 on Oceania--we find that Oceania shore excursions are more expensive and therefore we tend to arrange private tours--- see the boards here--or get other couples and hire a van.

Oceania is an excellent cruise experience like Silversea---but we think their weakness is shore excursions,

i did 5 silversea and 2 Oceania

everything not included on O is extremely expensive - even onerous

excursion staff people were very rude on Riviera

there were many complaints about both the high fares as on the quality of the excursions on O ...

I always suggest private tours wherever possible. Oceania's excursions, like its internet costs, are far too expensive.

Have to agree 100% on this one. We've been on 8 "O" cruises and vistaman is right on the mark. Whenever on "O" we take PTV tours.

But most likely will do PTV tours on SilverSeas...........
