peter_krynicki Posted June 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2015 What's a great place to get some good seafood within walking distance of the port on Key West? If you walk up Whitehead a few blocks to Caroline then make a left and walk across Duval then Simonton, you come to B.O.'s Fishwagon ---> http://www.bosfishwagon.com/ They open at 11:00 am. keywester33 Posted June 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2015 i don't think BOs is as good as it used to be. Instead, for a casual food truck type place, I would recommend a fish taco at Garbo's Grill or Lagerheads. Both are close to the dock. For a nicer, seat down meal, walk to Blackfin Bistro. They have great seafood. Another option is to walk along the harbor area to Half Shell Raw Bar. Good catch of the day specials.

wrcjr98 Posted July 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2015 We like Alonzo's - It's right on the water - you can sit outside and enjoy the weather and the boats. Also agree with another answer about Garbo's grill, their fish taco's can't be beat!
gumbeaux58 Posted July 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Does anyone know where I can get Golden crabs? Three was a place on the back side (Gulf side) that I had them years ago and to this day, they are one the best crabs I've ever eaten?
Clayswife Posted August 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2015 We've tried lots of places in all our years going to Key West ... Our favorites are still Conch Republic, Turtle Kraal (their scallops are SO good!!), and Southern Most Cafe (if you go during Happy Hour, you can order a personal Hibachi with all kinds of seafood, chicken, and veggies that you grill yourself right at the bar!!) We also really like Blue Heaven (Lobster Benedict is delicious!!) - It's a fun place to eat :) There are so many good places in KW, it's always hard to choose!! peter_krynicki Posted August 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2015 I was just at the Tower Bar at Turtle Kraals and had a hankering for their fish & chips There's another bonus to having dinner up there But usually the old stand-bys are the best Pjk

Jackie The hibachis are no longer available at Southermost Cafe. The new owners have changed the happy hour and food choices are very limited. laughing husky Posted October 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Still say that Cafe Sole' is one of the best...if not the best restaurant in Key West. Lived there for over 20 years till I moved to Alaska....Actually there are a lot of Conchs up here...:) more similarities than differences....
