Renting a car

We will be on the Veendam for the November 15 cruise. We haven't reserved a car in any of the ports. I know that Maui and Oahu we can just take a cab or bus to get around. Not sure about the other ports we are going to. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

you will find all sorts of info on renting cars, and all the other options to see the Hawaiian Islands.

Honolulu has an excellent bus system and if you are on Medicare, show your card and pay $1.50 (or at least you did 2 years ago so may have gone up).

Traffic in Maui can be horrible so plan accordingly when going back to the ship.

You might also check your roll call and see what others are doing in those ports.

Thanks! I've checked my roll call board and it is extremely quiet. I am hoping that in the next few weeks, more start posting there. I've never seen a more quiet board than this one. Those that are on it do post once in a while.

We rented cars in all 4 ports from Enterprise. It worked out really well. The Honolulu branch was very close to the port (we were embarrassed to have taken a shuttle!) While the Maui branch was a good 10-15 min drive. Take care in Maui that you are renting from Lahaina and not Kahului - our shuttlemates did that!
