Viking Star Homeland Cruise-August

We are taking the 15 day cruise from Stockholm and were interested in tours of Berlin. Is anyone taking this cruise and interested in a day tour? Not sure what the ship will offer yet since it has not been posted.

Bear in mind that the journey time from Warnemunde to Berlin, assuming no delays, is approximately 2.5 hours each way.

How much of Berlin can one see in 6-7 hours?

We always preferred to spend our time in Warnemunde, which is an attractive seaside resort.

Or take the local train into Rostock.

Douglas Ward, in his Berlitz Guide, classifies the Viking Star as 'Premium' ( 4+* ).

Agree with last poster. Viking Ocean, Azamara and Oceania are not luxury cruise lines. While Viking has the newest ships of the three "premium plus" cruise lines, the experience that they advertise on board is less than what you will find on Crystal, Regent, Seabourn or Silversea. This does not mean that you won't have a great experience, just not the same as on a luxury cruise line.

Excuse me but I came to this thread for info on Viking , so what's the problem. Many would disagree with you and Douglas ward about whether Viking is luxury.
