serene56 Posted February 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2017 February 2, 2017 Dear Carnival Vista Guests, Your cruise is right around the corner and we want to take a moment of your time to provide you with some important information to help expedite your boarding process. If you haven't done so already, please go to carnival.com and complete your Online Check-In. Terminal doors will not open until 11:00 AM for all guests. Please plan to arrive at the cruise terminal within the check-in window you selected on-line, unless you are Priority, then you may come at any time after 11:00 AM. Guests who arrive prior to their pre-selected check-in window will not be permitted to enter and will be asked to return at their scheduled time. This will be strictly enforced. You'll need your printed boarding pass, picture ID and citizenship documents to enter the terminal. If you plan on opening an onboard cash account, please do so at embarkation. Boarding is scheduled for 12:30 PM. You may access your stateroom at 1:00 PM and your keys will be in the mailbox outside of your stateroom. If you are a Diamond/Platinum guest or have purchased Faster to the Fun, you may proceed to your stateroom as soon as you board. While you wait for your stateroom to be ready, grab a bite to eat on Lido Deck 10 or at Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse on Promenade Deck 5 or feel free to get acquainted with our public areas. Our housekeeping team will work to get your checked luggage to you as soon as possible. However, keep in mind that given the volume, this may take us several hours to complete. Please remember you must check-in no later than 3:00 PM, since arriving past this time may compromise your ability to board the vessel and no refund will be provided. Sincerely, Denese Waiters

njoyndride Posted February 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2017 While I wasn't there for "doors open" we sailed Vista on 1/14. We were picked up in Fort Lauderdale at 10:35 (we Lyfted to port so I checked my history) arriving at 11:10. We went in the door had a 3 minute wait to do initial check in, no wait for the xray, went up the escalator just as they called Platinum/Diamond to board and proceeded to the ship without ever stopping. We went from curb to stepping on the ship in well under 15 minutes. When we went through the waiting area it was packed leading me to believe that the doors had been open for quite some time. mrpayroll Posted February 4, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2017 Wife and I were first in line for priority boarding on Jan. 22nd. They let us us in at 11:00 am.
serene56 Posted February 13, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Feb 5 they were sending people out of the line if their boarding time was not at that time. Also on the platinum line they sent people that were not in the platinum cabin or platinum minor children. Quite a few disgruntled people
mrsfuzzmo Posted February 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2017 We cruised on Jan. 28th. We had a port arrival time of 11:00 am. We got to port about 10:35 am. Walked right in after dropping luggage. They did check to make sure we had the early port arrival time. FTTF/Suites/Plats was open at this time too. We went through our security screens, checked in, got our photo, etc. and sat for about 45 minute before we could board. We were onboard by about 11:45 or so. Quite a few disgruntled people We were on this cruise and had a check in time of 12:00. Arrived at 11:35 and the line was halfway down the warehouse next to the terminal. Guessing 100 yards long. Got to the door of the terminal at 12:45, checked in and then had to wait for our number to be called which took another hour. Not once was a check in time asked for or checked by an employee. It was a mess and a free for all. Not one person was sent out of line after getting to the door with a wrong check in time. Staggered check in time FAIL!! The doors open at 11, you and while hard to estimate from what you describe as people lined up over 100 yards long a half hour before the door opens...... your right something failed. Where we disagree is what failed. Sent from my iPhone
