My 85 year old father has never been on a cruise. Would the 4 day Majesty out of Canaveral be a good first cruise for him? His biggest concern is getting sick from the movement. What speed does this ship/itinerary reach? He also doesn't walk very well. So maybe a scooter? But, the ship is not very large. So maybe not necessary. Any input is appreciated.Thanks.

Weather/sea conditions, which are not predictable far in advance, are what cause the ship's motion.

Majesty would be good because it's small. However, if you think he would enjoy an adult covered pool area, then I'd also look at Rhapsody and Brilliance out of Tampa. These are newer ships, not that much bigger than Majesty, which have an adult Solarium.

Thanks for the input. His interests are food, casino, and shows. I can picture him sitting on the promenade deck, falling asleep. Does Majesty have a wrap around promenade? I was on Monarch years ago but don't remember. Thanks.

Yes, Majesty has the outside promenade area on deck 7. One side is smoking.
