THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of wonderful visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc., on these postings. We are now at 108,616 views for this live/blog re-cap on our first sailing with Celebrity and much on wonderful Barcelona. Check these postings and added info at:

For dolce or dessert, here is what the dark chocolate fondue appeared as you needed to tackle this “finish” at Tuscan Grille.:

This was the Tuscan Grille “Signature Creme Brulee” that I enjoyed. A key tip for the Tuscan Grille is to “pace yourself” as the portions are large (and good). You need to save room for the desserts, etc.:

Thanks, Terry! I am actually booked in Tuscan Grille on Reflection in April. We have eaten in Murano twice on other ships and loved it, but time to branch out and try a different specialty restaurant. We are actually big fans of the MDR, and so usually only eat in a specialty restaurant one night of our cruise. The fondue and creme brulee both look divine! I don't know how I will ever choose!

If you are doing the Reflection, ask for Mildred in the Tuscan Grill. She is Terrific!!

Smart Casual, the same as the MDR UNLESS it is FORMAL NIGHT - WHEN IT IS FORMAL NIGHT - IT IS FORMAL NIGHT ON THE ENTIRE SHIP - ALL DINING ROOMS - NOT JUST THE MDR. So unless you are eating in your stateroom, on formal nights you are to dress FORMAL FOR THE ENTIRE EVENING. THAT IS WHY IT IS CALLED "FORMAL NIGHT"

Otherwise they could call it Formal Hour, Or Formal 1/2 Hour -

Sorry SeaBlu, but that is not entirely accurate. The attire at Specialty Dining is Smart Casual and above, on all nights of your sailing. This means you are welcome to dress Formal, but are not required to do so.

Here is the definitive answer from Celebrity's website : http://www.celebritycruises.com/footer/faqResults.do?faqSubjectName=Dress+Code&faqId=2728&faqSubjectId=55

What is the dress code for the specialty restaurants?

The dress code in Celebrity's specialty dining restaurants, including Blu for AquaClass® guests, is "Smart Casual and Above" for every night of the cruise, regardless of the evening dress code in the main restaurant.

Also, if you prefer to wear shorts/T's for formal night, you can also eat in the buffet. You don't have to remain in your cabin and have room service like SeaBlu says.

According to the Celebrity website, guests are asked to dress "smart casual" or better for the theater performances, even on formal nights. I noticed some people wearing shorts during the evening shows on Silhouette. I'm not sure if Silhouette wasn't enforcing the dress code or if those people snuck by the staff at the door.

I think the theater is the only place besides the restaurants & dining room that has a dress code listed. Casino, shops, bars, spa, deck, pool, etc. are wear what you want, within reason.

This isn't the first time you've posted this misinformation; neither is it the first time you've had it pointed out you are wrong.

Please check the link Host Andy has given, and accept your wrong in your belief, and hey, what's with the caps, it's rude to "shout".
