C & A Coupons transferable?

Are C & A coupons transferable? A CC member sent me one. I called RCCL about it and they said it was not transferable since I am not a C & A member. (Doing first RCCl cruise in June.) However the coupons was used to credit our credit card, after they told me I couldn't use it. Since I called and asked what the $25 ($21 plus $4) credit was for maybe RCCL will rebill my credit card $25. Should have kept my mouth shut.

C&A coupons that come in the magazine normally have the members names printed on them and are not supposed to be used by anyone else.

Heres a twist. My husband and I are C & A members, so I guess my kids are by default also.

One of my children will be in a cabin with my sister who is not a C & A member, I wonder if she can use my coupon?

This is somewhat off topic.....BUT, it does have to do with the C&A coupons.

I THOUGHT I had read seomwhere on this board a long time ago that you could "register" children so they could get the coupons books when you sale. For instance, it is my daughter and I that are sailing and she has been on a RCCL cruise. It sure would be nice to have two of those Johnny Rockets coupons [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img].

Am I just talking nonsense???? Did anyone else read this???

Family of 14, the reason we had to figure out what the $25 credit was for, was because I was expecting a $50 credit from RCCL/travelocity promotion. Although it was stated that this credit would be 2-3 weeks after final payment, I have not received it at 4 weeks. Supposedly this is still coming. But I asked about it and the $25 credit had to be accounted for.

I don't think kids can be C&A members. I believe you must be 18 to be a member.

C&A coupons are not transferrable. However, a friends coupon is. I got a friends coupon for my parents and they are not c&a members and it was able to be used against their booking.

Kids do have to be 18 enroll. It's stated on their online enrollment form. But, I do believe they will give credit for previous sailings if, upon turning 18 and enrolling in C&A, they can provide details of previous sailings-ship,date, etc.

Where does one get a "friends" coupon? I have not seen them in C & A.

I agree with aqusis that the children have to be 18 to enroll but they get credit for their past cruises. My son went on his first cruise without me and he was platinum. They gave the same status as me because he resides in the same household.

Let me clarify. I know they have to be 18 to join, I fully understand that. I THOUGHT I had read on this board somewhere that you could somehow "register" kids so they could get some of the coupons on the cruise - not the $$$ off cruise coupons in the magazine, but the booklet coupons.

RCI sent me two coupons after our sailing on the Splendour in February. Both coupons were for $50, I used mine and gave the other to a friend of mine. Not sure why I got the coupon, just happy that they sent it to me.

Anyone else get coupons after their last sailing?

In order to use a C&A coupon, the stateroom would have to be booked in a C&A member's name. COuld you put the booking in your name (with your sister)for one stateroom, and your spouse's name (with your child) for the 2nd stateroom? Then just switch the room keys when you board. That's what we did. The cousins are staying in one cabin, while my inlaws are in another and we are in a third. DH & I are both C&A members, Inlaws are not. We booked 2 staterooms in our names (spliting cousins between rooms), and got credit for 2 C&A coupons. Couldn't get 3rd credit because stateroom was not booked in our name.

It's worth a try

I was sent a C&A coupon from someone on these boards, as it was a "friends coupon"...for 50.00. i simply sent into the addy on back and yep...I was given a 50.00 credit on my cruise fare. And I certainly did not book through the "stranger" on here to get the credit. I say send 'em in. All they can do is disregard or apply, right? It's not like you'll be called on by the C&A police.
