Haze in Singapore so bad Primary and Seconday schools are closed tomorrow

Yeah, it is that bad. According to official Government readings, the haze pollutant index (we call it PSI) has exceeded hazardous levels. So Primary and Secondary schools will be closed tomorrow. Plenty of disruptions!

This is really disappointing. I have been monitoring this for a few days now as we will be in Singapore in less than two weeks. I know the haze is from smoke from fires, but is there any way to know if this will clear within the next two weeks? I'm still hoping for some of the beautiful views I have seen on pictures from Singapore.

Sea Princess is in Kuala Lumpur today, just north of Singapore. Looking at the bridge cam and wondering if that is the smokey haze we can see even up there ?

Hopefully it will clear soon.

Unfortunately, Australia's SBS showed a report on it on Monday night and they are not anywhere near putting out the fires.

They were purposely lit and this is done each year for years allegedly (had to say that) by the growers of Palm Oil plantations. Its quite a threat to Orangutans in Borneo.

yeah, the haze situation isn't great in Singapore, but compared to Indonesia, we are in a much better position.
