Devil's Island Gift Shop

Does anyone know if the gift shop on Devil's Island has the ability to take credit cards? I know they use Euros as they are a French Territory, but would like to know if they accept credit cards.

I am sure they must do as they had some expensive items for sale.

We were there last November on Silver Whisper, and although I did not buy anything, the buyers were proffering credit cards in payment for goods. As you can imagine the items are not exactly cheap.

However the Island is amazing, enjoy!

What items would be for sale in Devil's Island. Anything locally made?

Is the gift shop easily accessible?

I had planned to send a postcard; understand they can be stamped, cancelled, and mailed from the island.

You are quite correct, they do sell postcards, but also items like T shirts, etc. They have quite a reasonable collection of costume jewellery, but most items are imported from France, hence the price tag.

The shop is part of the hotel, and there is also a bar selling beer and soft drinks at a reasonable price.

These buildings are situated at the top of the island on a plateau, so it is quite a hike to reach this area, and one needs to take care. Fortunately when we were there in November 2015, it was dry, but it would have been treacherous if it had been raining.
