JrMafia90 Posted February 20, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Your caps lock key is also stuck, but not in Nassau! hahaha, actually they could be stuck in Nassau because the ship is in Nassau and the keyboard is on the ship. ;)
CaribbeanCrazy Posted February 20, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2005 OMG....I just got off the Glory yesterday! DH and I were on her for two weeks doing a back to back. We didn't notice any kind of problems. That's really a bummer for the passengers on board. I don't think 100.00 credit is a very good compensation for missing two ports! We were wondering what happened with John Herald. He came aboard as CD for our second week and then mid week they annouced he had a family emergency and had to fly home. I'm really sorry to hear he had a death in the family. CaribbeanCrazy
basketballmom Posted February 20, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Brn2Crz - Glory sails on Saturdays out of Port Canaveral not Fridays. This really stinks for the passengers currently on the Glory. Key West is fun but doesn't make up for missing St. Thomas and St. Maarten.
rpsinnj Posted February 20, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2005 just off the phone with carnival, glory is disabled and is being worked on as we type this, keep fingers cross for repair for future cruises...we are cruising on 2/26 we hope
brn2crz Posted February 20, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Thanks...That makes more sense..I was looking at the Itin,on Priceline..It shows March cruises on 4th,11th,18th and 25th..I guess their website is wrong. Better than being stuck in Galveston..Its 547..Elation was due out at 430. She is still there.
jima53 Posted February 20, 2005 #11 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Better stuck on the ship in Nassau and key west than driving a delivery route in northeast florida anyday. Jim glory in 1/07/

maynovmom Posted February 21, 2005 #15 Share Posted February 21, 2005 We are going on our fourth cruise in April (not on the Glory) and are now wondering what does happen if a ship cannot sail due to mechanical problems? What if you fly out the day before and the cruise is cancelled?
ccletzgo Posted February 21, 2005 #16 Share Posted February 21, 2005 missing ports because of weather, is one thing. I wouldnt expect any comp. but missing two very good ports because of mech. problems you would think they would give guests more then $100. If its ship credit, they get it back. $100 is like $25, cost to Carnival, if not less:rolleyes:

dosi Posted February 21, 2005 #19 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Put the word Contract, or cruise contract in the search. You will be shocked. I was. As the Cruise Contract states, THey owe you nothing:eek: Actually if your cruise is cancelled completely before you board the ship I do believe you will get a full refund. However you will not be reimbursed for travel expenses. That is what your travel insurance is for. A few years back Carnival had to cancel a cruise prior to departure due to a hurricane. If I recall correctly the passengers were given a full refund and a hefty discount off of a future cruise. However once you leave the port it is correct that the cruiseline owes you nothing. We broke an azipod and missed a port and had a hurricane....I think we got $50 credit per person and lots and lots of free cocktails. We still had a very good time. kodiac Posted February 21, 2005 #20 Share Posted February 21, 2005 We received a letter in the mail prior to cruising on Dawn Princess that we would not be going to their private island Princess Cayes. Later we found out that due to mechanical errors on the cruise ship, we were unable to make it to 6 ports in 10 days. Princess credited our account $200 per person ($400 total). This made for a great start to a wonderful honeymoon. Later we found out that Grand Cayman would be canceled due to the hurricane passing through. It was a great time and I am glad Princess gave us money (that they received back after we spent it). If the port is canceled due to other reasons, it should not be compensated.
