Rare MMDown Under Posted July 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Thanks David. Welcomes, such as this, are what make cruising special. Got to love the "Blessing of the Bonnets" ceremony in memory of convict women sent Down Under. Hope all the passengers have a great day. Sandielle Posted July 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2014 They always seem to have warm welcomes in Cobh. Haven't heard of the Blessing of the Bonnets before, lol. :) Napier, NZ, is another place that always has a great welcome and farewell.

NSWP Posted July 19, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) Yes the Cobh and Cork people really appreciate the ship visits. As the ships leave, the locals line up on the quay and cheer and wave and they line their cars up and flash their lights. And the band plays on. I have been into Cobh twice, on Crown Princess and Ruby Princess, wonderful place, wonderful people. Edited July 19, 2014 by NSWP
Billy and Charlie's Mum Posted July 19, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 19, 2014 We will be arriving in Cobh on 29th August on the Ruby Princess. I have heard that they welcome cruise ships wonderfully. I hope we get half the welcome that the world cruise people got.
