Queen Victoria 6th April 2015 - Princess Grill query

We will be onboard the above cruise from Los Angeles to NYC - we travelled previously on QM2 in Queens Grill and enjoyed the Queens Grill Lounge after dinner for their entertainment. We notice it says on website "Grills guests" - does this mean that we will be able to access this lounge in Princess Grill status?

Many thanks for your reply....we understand that we will only be offered early sitting for dinner....we are hoping that once on board we might be able to change to late seating by joining a large table....has anyone previous experience of this?

Hi,

There is a Roll Call for the Queen Victoria World Cruise 2015 and if you are interested please click on the link below:-

We have arranged a number of CC Get -Togethers for each leg in Hemispheres (Deck 10 Forward) on the first full sea day on each leg. Details are published on the Roll Call.

Best wishes,

It is open dining. You will be allocated a table and it is yours for whole cruise. You decide when to have breakfast, lunch and dinner at a time suitable to you during opening hours. There is no set time.

We understand "allocated a table" as we cruised in the Queens Grill on QM2 with another couple - we did say after the cruise that whilst we enjoyed our friends company on a table for four - we agreed that we would have liked to have joined a larger table and met more people.

So I gather we will be allocated a table for two, and that will be "it" in the Princess Grill for the whole cruise? Unless of course, we opt to dine elsewhere.

Yes it will be your table for the duration of the cruise [although changes have been known to take place after a day at sea]. When we book [the 'Cunard Fare', not a 'Saver' fare of any kind], we're always asked our table size preference. We go for the largest table. If you have been offered that facility on your fare, ring up and request a larger table.

If that isn't possible, hot foot it to the restaurant for lunch when you get on-board and have a chat with the Maître d' and see what can be done.

We tend to like the tables for two in PG, as against QG as they are set slightly further apart.

However, if you prefer a larger table and you have been allocated a smaller one, the Maitre d' is usually able to assist if you want to change. Whichever table you are on, it will be yours for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We very often don't have lunch and our table is just left empty whereas in Britannia, you move around to different tables for breakfast and lunch, retaining the same one for dinner.

As all PG/QG fares are now Cunard fares (they don't go to early saver/saver like they used to go to Getaway), you can specify your table size on the voyage personaliser online after booking.

The fare structure might be different in Australia.
