We will be flying into Miami the morning of our cruise...should be there by 9:30 am. We plan to take a taxi to the port. Is there a good place to stop between the airport and the port to pick up bottled water and sodas to carry on??

Since you are takig a cab--ask the driver to stop at a grocery store to pick up needed items. We have done this is the past and saves us from lugging all the stuff onto the plane.

You will definately need to do something prior to arriving at the ship because there are no stores near the ship. I would also recommend having your cab driver stop at a grocery or convenience store on the way to the ship.

Have a great cruise!

That's the plan...looking for SPECIFIC recommendations...don't want to pay for a 10 mile out of the way trip to a full grocery if there is a GOOD convenience store or market along the route from the airport to port.

Thanks!

Trent,

Is that Winn Dixie the most convenient for me as well?

We're staying at the JW Marriott downtown the night before our cruise, and I'd like to pick up some supplies before boarding.

Will the fact that our cruise begins on a Sunday likely impact our ability to find something?

Thanks!

If you're flying into MIA that Winn-Dixie is right on the way to downtown Miami and most convenient for those in a cab who just want to grab something quick on the way to their hotel or port.

If you're staying at JW Marriott (GREAT hotel BTW), there's a Publix that's not too far away from it at 134 SW 13th Street, Miami, Phone: (305) 860-2280

Map from JW Marriott... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=1109+Brickell+Ave,+Miami,+FL+33131&daddr=134+SW+13th+Street,+Miami&btnG=Search&ll=25.762861,-80.193522&spn=0.00688,0.010471

The only impact a Sunday will have is that you can't buy alcohol before noon.

Thanks Trent!

The JW Marriott was awesome!

Great rooms, and very friendly and helpful service.

We had planned to take cabs to Bayside, but the concierge pointed out that we had the Skymover as a free option, and that worked out great.

The Publix was easy to find and get to from the Hotel - once again, the staff was very helpful with suggestions/directions/etc.!

....oh yeah...the cruise was good too! ;)
