  1. Well, I called back and spoke to someone else, and they too confirmed that it is a room for 4 (as it has a double sofa bed), so I am not going to worry about it anymore! I like the location and it even looks like the balcony might be ever so slightly larger as, the hump balconies begin after that cabin. Thanks everyone!

Well, worst case scenario, he sleeps on the couch instead of a pull-out bed?

I’m pretty sure for muster stations reasons we wouldn’t be able to stay there. Plus, those sofa beds are uncomfortable enough as beds. A week on the couch itself would be a no-go lol. We will not likely be at full capacity so they would have to move us somewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m going to call again next week and ask someone different.

Just confirming that the two sharing the sofa bed are smaller individuals, too... some people don't realize that the sofa bed isn't as wide as the regular bed.

My daughter stays in the King with us and my son gets the sofa bed to himself. She loves it, lol, but I think this is the last time we'll be able to do it that way as she gets older.

hmmm, I wouldn't be so sure. It doesn't show an asterisk or a triangle...

I don't understand why they'd put you in this cabin, when there are at least 5 OV balcony cabins for 4 people available in the aft section of deck 6.

I know! The lack of an asterisks makes me nervous too. I do like that location though, so don't want to move it if I don't have too...

  5. OK. I hate to be so distrusting, but I would love a 2nd opinion from someone who may know (other than Royal themselves, lol). Our party of 4 was moved from one Ocean View Balcony to another, which is fine. However, the deck plans do not clearly indicate that the new room assignment accommodates 4. Now, I would hate to think that Royal would put a party of 4, in a 2-person cabin, but we've seen stranger things happen. I did just call and was assured that my category, which I was told was a 1D, accommodates 4. I even asked him to confirm that my specific cabin accommodates 4 and has a sofa bed and he said that it did. I have done a search for the particular cabin and have found little information (except for information from other sites stating it's a 2-person cabin).

Can anyone possibly confirm that Harmony 6250 is for 4? I would assume that 6650 is identical, as it is on the other side of the ship and they usually are, but I would love first-hand confirmation about 6250. Thanks!

I am sure RCI hasn't changed anything in the last hour... They are not that quick. So, my best bet - nothing will change for our Nov sailing.

Oh ok. I thought you posted the link because you found changes lol. I don’t anticipate they’ll be changing anything now either.

I just hope if they decide we need to be tested I can find the proctored at home tests.  Pretty nervous about setting up an appt at CVS or Walgreens - those seem to get canceled. And I sure don't want to get to the port depending on a test there at the port!

Come on RCL! JUST TELL US!

I don't have a choice unfortunately. I have a 10yo and they are not accepting the at home tests for unvaccinated. I plan on making appointments at CVS AND Walgreens, if possible, then cancelling what I need to. I feel bad taking up appointments, but we have little choice with these requirements! I'm trying to think of it as opening up a spot for someone who needs a testing appointment last minute:)

Someone suggested perhaps they are moving families to certain areas.
Those of you impacted, if you received a letter, or were moved, would you mind sharing the following?

    • Was your reservation only 1 or 2 adults in the cabin?
    • Does your reservation include children under vaccine age (11 under)
    • does your reservation include teens 12+
    • Is your reservation during holiday and US school vacations (higher occupancy with families on board)  Nov-Jan,

Trying to make sense of any logic (of course, when have we expected logic?)

          Thanks!

We are 2 adults, one teen, and an unvaxed 10yo, cruising over Thanksgiving on Harmony. We are on deck 6 in an oceanview balcony now. We got the letter Wednesday, but our documents still show the same cabin. I think I have only heard of a couple of people actually being reassigned, though lots of people appear to have gotten the letter.

Chatted with novant health.  A virtual visit is required for each child, then that doctor can schedule the testing appointment. The representative said we can only save spots for testing 3 days out, but the doctors should be able to schedule farther in advance

Ugh. So much to coordinate. We don’t go until November, so please let us know how everything goes!

I think the PCR tests are the lobotomy ones, and the antigen tests are the non-invasive ones.

I've only had PCR tests so far, and yes, the swab goes all the way in.

I am not worried about our kid getting any of the tests, but my DH flat out refuses to get a PCR test before the cruise unless he can operate the swab himself. He has some serious nasal problems, and the only other person who is allowed to touch his nose is his ENT. Thankfully, DH is vaccinated and may or may not need a PCR test in November. Who knows at this time....

Luckily the video posted shows a child getting a very mild nasal swab. Only the tip of the swab was inserted. I’m going to keep my eyes open for more videos in the months to come…

Children are receiving a nasal swab antigen test. Nasal swabs are no longer invasive. On the Adventure of the Seas, adults also received them mid-cruise and there was nothing to it.

My understanding was the the initial PCR test was the nasal swab and the mid-cruise antigen test was the saliva test? Regardless, it’s good to know they are at least less invasive now. Though I guess that’s dependent on the person.

    Will be following this…

Have a 7 yr old granddaughter and we’re cruising in November.  She’s never had to be tested.  Hoping the candy shop onboard will be the “answer” to bribe her BUT apparently she will be required to have another test before disembarking ☹️😢.

I realize protocol is changing all the time and perhaps will be different by November…yet two tests in the span of 3 1/2 days…😞

We’re cruising in November also, so hopefully things will be different then.

  13. Can anyone who has sailed from Florida recently with children under 12 confirm what type of testing they are doing for the kids? Is it the nose or mouth swab? I’ve only had the invasive nose swab and am not sure my daughter could handle that one, lol.
