Again...they haven't announced anything regarding this change and they stated any other announcements could take up to 24 hours. Seems clear.

I’m not trying to be argumentative, lol. However, we are talking about changes being implemented for tomorrow. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to believe the people in that sailing will know sooner than that. What’s the harm in asking the question?!

You have to work through almost the entire booking on RC's website (including passenger names) before they give you the option to select a refundable deposit.  At that point you will see the price difference.

Also, refundable deposit is not available for Grand Suites or better, or guarantee categories.

Is the price for a refundable deposit different depending on the sailing? For my most recent cruise it was $199 more for a refundable deposit, and I was thinking that might be a set amount.

Correct, there's been no discernable pattern to when the various items become available in the Cruise Planner.

That's what I figured - thanks. I also wasn't sure if it had something to do with Oasis' amplification in the fall. But then again, they have all the specialty restaurants open (even though some probably will not be there by next year), as well as the dining packages. Makes no sense...

I know, I know, I should have printed out my boarding docs last month, but I didn't.  Right now the Royal Caribbean site will not let me log on.  I leave tomorrow.  What happens if I show up without my boarding docs?

Navigator is on the app. Did you check in via the app? This is the first time I didn’t print them out because it’s on the app. We’ll see how it works. See you tomorrow 😉

Interesting - did you do the two dinners together?  I'm assuming yes since couples tend to eat together but that makes me think they treat it more like dining credits so I wonder if a group of 4 could use it on 1 night for 1 meal together?

Yes, that's exactly how we did it. The servers didn't have any issue with it either. The way it was explained to us was that yes, a group of 4 could use a 4-night package for one dinner. Basically, you are buying the meals, as opposed to the nights, and it doesn't matter how you use them. However, that was just what I got from her explanation.

Does anyone have experience of sharing dining packages? Example purchase a 4 night dining package and sharing it between 2 people to have specialty dining on 2 nights each?

This was offered once on my previous cruise but I'm unsure if its unique to that cruise as the packages were not selling well or is it something that is a norm and allowed on all ships as I'm considering if I can get a 4 night dining package to allow 4 persons to have 1 night in specialty dining.

We have done this as well, and I was also curious about whether or not it's common practice. My husband and I purchased one 4-night package, but used it for both of us for two dinners. The woman in dining who suggested it acted as if it was no big deal, but I don't hear of others doing it this way. It was on Grandeur...what ship did they allow you to do it on?

  7. I did a search and could not find an answer to this question...if I book a specialty restaurant online prior to the cruise, I would obviously have to pay for it then. However, once onboard, if I decide to get a dining package, do they apply the amount you already paid for the one specialty restaurant to the package? I want to make reservations for Chops now, because we plan to go with my parents, who have already booked it. However, my husband and I aren't sure yet if we want to do a package. Not to mention we would not be able to book our preferred date and time at Chops ahead of time if we pre-purchased the package anyway. It's on Navigator's 9-night if that makes a difference. Thanks.

  8. Well that’s good to know. Maybe the way I was asking for it was incorrect? I don’t know. I just know I was clearly told that if the promo (and I can’t recall which one it was and that may make a difference) was restricted to new bookings only, they could not just reprice the existing reservation. I probably should have just kept calling since you get a different answer every time:)

I have repriced 4 cruises over the last 18 months when ksf comes out with zero issue..

I’m glad to hear it’s worked out for others. I guess I haven’t been so lucky. At least not when the promo has been for new bookings only.

You won’t have to cancel.  You just call and your reservation is repriced to the current rates.

I have never had luck just having them adjust the price. However, when you say "repriced," to me that essentially means they will cancel and rebook your reservation. Maybe some people have had luck keeping their cabins that way though. I have tried with a couple different promos and no luck.

Have also been waiting for this KSF.. We're cruising with 4 little's that are part of our extended family group. Harmony May 3rd 2020. We're booked in 3 JS's and hope we see some savings.

Wait...Just saw the fine print we're already booked will this apply?

    We booked Jan 5, 2019 NRD's.

Unfortunately, it will not apply. You could always try, but you would likely have to cancel (and lose any promos you booked with, as well as risk losing your selected cabins), then re-book with the KSF promo.

I used to think this also, but to be fair to RCL there ARE occasions where the math does indeed show that Kids will sail for "free". (Port fees, grats not included)

You do however need to calculate the pre-sale price,  continue to price and re-price during the sale to ensure that what you are talking about is not happening, because it does.

Even if not completely free, we have been able to score a couple of really good deals with the kids sail free promo.

  13. I'm glad to hear they let your son join in the escape room. I had thought the age limit was 14, not 12. I really wanted to take my son, but he is also just shy of 12 (he'll turn 12 the day after we return). However, he looks much older, so I may just give it a try:) Thanks for the review! We're looking forward to our April 12th sailing as well! We did this itinerary on the Navigator a couple years ago, which was one of our favorites, but are looking forward to the amped up ship.

Has anyone got an offer for The Navigator on Apr 12?

Yes. Just yesterday actually. I cannot recall all the starting bids, but I believe the starting bid to go from our interior to a balcony was $180pp. Not too bad I guess, but we have two connecting rooms so it wouldn't work for us. I got two emails, one for each reservation number.
