  1. I don't think RCI sails to any port/location where there's not a US Consular presence which can get you paperwork to extend your stay or return to the US within about two business days (even with an expired passport).
  2. Some sailings have nothing but GTY available to book in certain categories and "much of a saving" is very subjective.
  3. You don't need to hold the stock to get the OBC - only need to show you owned it at one time.
  4. Refund processing times vary, a lot - plenty of threads already discuss that issue.
  5. No, nothing changed other than latency improved (most of the time). The only change, so far, is that RCI removed the Surf buying option in the planner.
  6. Not sure why you assumed you'd get higher download. The vast majority of the cruising public doesn't know nor care what the off-ship internet connection is or its speed. They only care about performance and for that, most/some will see an improvement (due to the lower latency)
  7. Such ideas were floated when refunds during early COVID were taking months and were for full cruise fares, not much smaller planer purchases - the much simpler, crappy IT and incompetence, usually explains many things at RCI.
  8. Voom is a made-up generic name RCI uses for internet access in their fleet - the provider is SES Networks or more likely Starlink. Yes, there'll be a Voom kiosk on the promenade to assist customers with access issues, but you are likely not to need it.
  9. Not if you read a few RCI IT related threads here.
  10. Don't go there either - buy Voom when you need it on the device you will use, it's quite simple. Remember the 24-hour period starts when you buy, so choose the start time wisely. If you really need help, there's a dedicated Voom desk set up on the ship.
  11. You can't buy the 24-hour package online or via calling - that is only available on board. The planner lockout starts closer to three days out and I don't think calling changes that.
  12. For now, buying pre cruise, yes - the Surf option has been gone ever since the holiday sales started. Surf is still available on board, for now.
  13. No, but as you can see, the per day/period cost is quite a bit higher when you don't.
  14. On board it's usually $18-20/day Surf and $23-25/day Stream if you buy for the entire voyage. A continuous 24-hour period is usually $26 for Surf and $33 for Stream. Online, pre-cruise, the price varies but currently Surf doesn't seem to be available, and Stream is about $17/day.
  15. If you provide the cabin #, someone may provide details on that. Look at a site like cruisedeckplans, which has photos/videos of various cabins.
  16. Don't look for variety with RCI, especially with O and I class ships
  17. About 30-45 minutes after arrival.
  18. The rest get cancelled if you won - look for a charge to your credit card.
  19. To my knowledge no D+ has ever reported getting only $25.99 off when buying Voom - the letter has a simple mistake.
  20. And another record day........ Royal Caribbean International said it has set another booking record. This past Black Friday was the cruise line’s single largest booking day in its 53-year history, according to a press release, which marked the third time the record was broken in 2022 and the peak of what is now the brand’s highest volume booking week. The strong demand and performance demonstrated by the two latest records come on the heels of the first look at the world’s best family vacation, Icon of the Seas, and the record-breaking day reported when the highly anticipated ship opened for bookings 15 months ahead of its January 2024 debut. “This has been a year for the books at Royal Caribbean International, from the full return of our 26 ships to the first look at Icon of the Seas, the best family vacation in the world,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “Every milestone met is an accomplishment achieved, it’s a wonderful start to 2023 and we are excited for what lies ahead. We could not have reached this point without our loyal guests, valued travel advisors and partners, and the Royal Caribbean International team around the world.” In 2022, the cruise line marked both the single largest booking day and the highest volume booking week in April, which was followed by another record-breaking single day of bookings with the opening of Icon in October. The announcement of the newest records are celebrated along with a series of major, recent milestones for the brand, including the reveal of Icon as the first-of-its-kind combination of the best of every vacation and the arrival of Wonder of the Seas, the world’s newest wonder, into its year-round home of Port Canaveral, Florida. More about Icon and the cruise line’s new adventures across ships and private destinations will be revealed in the coming months.
