Yesterday our last full sea day. Really wasn’t too bad weather wise in the morning. Enjoyed lounge chair in the sun for a bit. But once again rain started up. Went to Haven for lunch. Much better than day one. The bf just wanted a sandwich and we couldn’t find a simple ham and cheese or make your own so they made him one. Hit bingo and got called down to get my room card. Ugh. Yup I’m that person. Watched someone win twice-great for them but stinks for others. And finally, making our way for dinner at the haven. Wanted to make the 7:00 comedy show but didn’t make it. The kids went to the 10:30 show and said it was just ok. Heard the same about about dueling pianos.

Made it back with about a half hour to spare. Came back to a cake in the room. Day of arrival I gave both the concierge and butler a note and tip asking them to decorate with my items I hid and arrange a group dinner. We opted for private room in taste as he does not like attention. A few things here. They charged me for taste which ok. I didn’t know and should have researched more. Or maybe they could have reminded me as they did with other things. Babe Ruth, our house keeper is the one who took the reins on decorations. She made sure to keep in touch about timing etc. She was great the entire time. I asked if we could have an officer join us. I understand they are busy but it would have been nice for an appearance. Dillip stopped by which was nice.

Hit the swizzel inn for lunch. Very good. Then Long Beach. I was overruled with church bay beach but it was the bfs actual birthday so I let it go. Now I know I was right because there were not many fish.

No dinner at all Sunday night. Did go to Pour House and saw rumors. What a phenomenal show. Day two in Bermuda the waves and wind was whipping looking like a hurricane. Had reserved Tuckers Tours. Pick up at 8 and headed towards caves. He made several stops along the way. Got some nice shots of the ship in the background.

Bermuda arrival!! Beautiful morning. But the weather got worse. Rain. Wind. Took a taxi and turned around. Had lunch in kings wharf. Rain coming back will be bad so hit snorkel beach. Do not. I repeat do not waste time coming here. I don’t mind paying to get in but the beach is a mess. The fabric is coming up. Glass everywhere. Bathrooms are a mess. No TP. They should be paying me to be here. I will say staff is trying but it’s a lost cause. Only came here because another taxi ride would have ended up in a turn around. The live music is nice. May try haven for dinner. Not sure. Will report back when I get Wi-Fi somewhere else.

Finally have Wi-Fi. The ship service well. I probably don’t need to explain. Upon arrival we boarded and split up. Trying to stay with friends and enjoy haven. We were told no hats. Yes. For dinner but lunch? Day of arrival after traveling is a bit much. We have since been allowed with a hat as well as others for breakfast and lunch. The haven lunch was horrible. Burger and fries cold. We all partied on our balcony leaving NYC and it was great. Bf daughter wanted to try Cagneys for dinner. My last experience wasn’t great. Had to get concierge to help with reservation which ans always they helped. Everyone loved it. I still have no taste for months since Covid so I can’t say. Service was great. Made our nightly donation to the casino. Saturday started in buffet because the bf needs something when he wakes. Than to haven. Again I can’t taste. Hit the outdoor haven hot tub. Windy and cold so went indoors. Holy hot Batman. Wasn’t about to try lunch and get pissed pdf in haven so went to o Sheehans with the group. Nice time. Teppanayki for dinner. Wow. I’ve never done that and I hate myself for not doing it sooner. What a blast!! Ok. Too long. On to next day separately

In the haven lounge waiting to get on ship. Not quite like Miami but fine. Bf worried about others so by myself.

Road trip!

4:30 alarm. Bf finally finished packing. Bagels ready, cooler full of Prosecco and OJ, bus arrival 6 am. On our way to pick up next four!!

First time platinum tomorrow on my 9th NCL cruise but well over a dozen cruises. NCL has been my go to. Did RCL to Alaska in a suite and was not impressed. Celebrity with the NY Jets almost ten years ago. This cruise is special in many ways. First time with a group. Ten of us going of which seven have never cruised. 50th bday for the bf day two in Bermuda. Haven aft cabin 9318. Have done the Haven several times now. always aft. Was going to bid for owners suite but decided not to to stay with group as all but one couple has 9th floor aft. No one else in group is in the haven so we shall see how that goes. Have booked group dinner for teppanayki. No other firm plans yet but will be doing another group dinner for the bday. Massage to be booked immediately upon boarding after finding a drink of course. See if we can get the bf in the behind the scenes tour with me. Then enjoy. Tomorrow morning. 6am pick up at house with first six via party bus. Bagels and mimosas to be served by yours truly. About an hour later pick up remaining four on our way to cruise terminal. Group has 9:30 check in with exception of one couple but have been told they will not separate group. We of course will be separated as we will check in the Haven line. Photos and more to follow tomorrow!!

May be a dumb question but are they a hard no on a guest that isn’t platinum going with a platinum guest on behind the scenes?

I have never stayed forward as I always stay aft for the view and the size of the balcony (Typically 9 as they tend to be the largest). No noise issues, no wind issues (From what I have read anyway). I am active, medium size person that likes the exercise and found the walk is never an issue. I would probably only stay via bid, in the top cabin to move to forward. That didn't happen last time and this time our entire group is going to be aft 9 so I didn't want to be far from them. As far as the Haven use, if you are port heavy I would say that is a good use of being in the Haven with priority disembarking.

I agree with the others. I’m not wealthy. I work hard, no kids, do not cruise every year, vehicle has 111,000 miles on it. But when I do cruise. it is only in the haven. Yes. You can book a restaurant 120 days out. But I recently booked my group of ten for teppanyaki less than 30 days out. Outside of the concierge that almost would have never happened. The butler I use mainly for eating in the room or on the balcony. This upcoming cruise is a big birthday celebration so I’ll have him/her decorate and set up everything.

I am on the Escape mid November in Bermuda. WOF is a virtual event shown on that ship. You play along on your phone. It does not appear they are doing this on all ships but things change often.

Yes. Darn autocorrect! I will be on the Escape. I have been on the Breakaway on deck nine which I think may be bigger based on the video I saw of my room on Escape. The spreadsheet someone did does not include the Escape balcony sizes and oddly enough NCL doesn't separate out the Escape balcony like BA & GA into aft & aft w/large balcony (Hopefully they won't see this and pick up on that!). Also deck nine on Encore which also seems smaller than the BA balcony. I have a bid for the Deluxe Owners with large balcony but I am undecided if I want to keep the bid. Cruise is for the BF's birthday, hence wanting dinner on the balcony (He wouldn't want the attention in a restaurant). I really love the Aft, watching the water and also our friends are two rooms over. But if it is cold the DO Suite inside dining would be better.

Thank you. I’m in a large haven after balcony which I have had the last few cruises so I’m not worried about space. I’ve been to Bermuda a couple of times but in spring and summer so fall cruising is new to me. Cruising, cruising NCL not so much. First time platinum so looking forward to those perks.

Has anyone cruised to Bermuda from NYC in November for the five day cruise? Not sure if this is new itinerary. I am looking to get an idea of the temperature on the way back the day we leave around dinner time. I realize temperatures and weather can always vary but I am just trying to get an idea so I know if dinner on the balcony is even remotely an option.

I can’t comment on access at last time I was at that port was too long ago which had a bus to bring you from the street to ship. We took the train to and from Rome same day on our cruise (one day stop, long). The train was difficult to find on the way back (track to find in particular) and we almost missed the ship as it was late. I’d recommend car service and leave super early to be safe.

Did they let you in your room to drop bags off that were not checked? They did in 2022 on Joy out of Miami.

Perhaps they changed it since I went.
