  1. Just off of QV after enjoying the Christmas & New Year cruise. We always opt for an aft suite and never have we had any problems with vibration or noise, although we do enjoy the noise of the propellers cutting through the water. We have experienced "the smells" which yes,is pretty awful but not much can be done about it but they should be honest with people, and not say......we'll check this out,as I'm pretty sure they've had hundreds of complaints over the years.
  2. Everyone onboard QV said this years fireworks were the best yet and I have to agree. Madeira has one of the finest displays in the world ,never fails to give me goosebumps. home now, feels like I've never been away lol
  3. We did indeed thank you,for once it wasn't blowing a gale and the sun was shining, just heading to Madeira now for the fireworks 🎇 Happy new year to everyone when it comes x
  4. We're onboard as I write this, just coming into Lanzarote,it's an overnight. It has been wonderful so far,bit sad not to be coming back on next year,we've done the Xmas/new year cruise for years now but it's QA next for the next two years but it will be exciting to see her
  5. Onboard Victoria as a type and it's choppy CHOPPY!! Still just off France,so the Bay of Biscay here we come . I like the previous reviewer, wore my summer dress to the Queens grills restaurant, thinking "it would do" but I felt very under dressed, won't do that again. Merry Christmas cruisers x
  6. Oh yes,the napkins, when we have breakfast in our room the toast is always wrapped in napkins,so it's always soggy 🤢 I'm on a gf diet and my bread is even worse lol
  7. My heart sank when reading this,we're boarding on the 23rd,hope we're not standing on the dock side, suitcases in hand and no ship.Last year we were in dry dock for two days whilst a propeller was replaced. The ship does indeed bang loudly when waves crash into her, pleeeeease someone tell me that is all it is 🤞🤞🤞🤞
  8. Hey, I bet some golden oldies on Cunard could sort out a few of the thugs on P&O 😂
  9. I absolutely love Cunard and hope it sticks to the traditional old style cruising, not once have I ever witnessed bad behaviour ☺️ well, apart from when I've had one too many Singapore slings 😆
  10. Ha, just don't expect it in what used to be 5* fine dining and food whizzing past my head isn't what I want, also on the main news a few years back,it showed thugs scrapping on the top deck of Azura (I think) great how cruising is evolving isn't it? I do like the sound of your food fight though lol but I'm sure you wouldn't do it on a cruise ship
  11. Yes,sadly some brits just don't know how to behave. Ha, have a friend in McLaren Vale and my favourite wine is from there too 😀
  12. Ha,I wish you were on our cruise from Southampton at Christmas, you sound lots of fun 😃
  13. And I'm sure you look gorgeous, sorry, didn't mean fancy dress as in dressing as postman Pat lol I just meant the flapper dresses etc, I looked online and they were so expensive,so I just sit and admire those who choose to wear them ❣️
  14. I agree but if you want to do it,fine but I personally have never in my life been attracted to fancy dress nights in any way shape of form,it takes me about 3 weeks to pack my bags as it is 😂
  15. Jeans can look smart sometimes but I too have never seen jeans on a formal night, I love seeing both men and women look nice and all spruced up,it's what makes Cunard special and a stand alone cruise line 😊
  16. Although the Cunard agents are super friendly they know literally nothing if you ask them anything specific and that's with the 3 ships sailing,so best of luck with any questions regarding Anne 😳😂
  17. This is such a hassle, umpteen times we tried and it kept saying it wasn't suitable,EVENTUALLY got ones that were accepted (looked like two escaped convicts) only to get to check in and the woman there said (whilst trying not to laugh at said pix) we'll need to do these again, apparently she said most need redoing,so why don't they just go back to the old way ...........walks away sighing lol
  18. I just love seeing everyone dressed up too, this is why we stick to Cunard, the majority do make the effort, the red and gold is on the Christmas & New Year cruise, doesn't seem to change much e.g The roaring 20s etc although I can't justify paying a fortune for a dress just for one night but it's lovely to see those who DO, happy cruising everyone x
  19. Clearly there is a place for these party ships but I have to say I find them very tacky but I'm an oldie lol we used to sail with P&O and loved oceana, even got engaged onboard Azura but sadly as each cruise passed we found more and more faults, the icing on the cake was a food fight in the restaurant (& I'm sure I actually saw some of that icing fly by me) the staff, sadly, don't know how to cope with this unruly behaviour,Since then,we have travelled with Cunard & there really is no comparison, especially in the suites, really hope QA keeps the tradition going ❣️
  20. Oh please do lol they're fabulous, I love singing along with them...... I say singing 😂
  21. Thank you so much for your reply.I could find a list of entertainment but you literally had to go through every one to find when they were on,gave up. we don't go to the big shows but prefer the garden room but it seems Cula seem to play every year at Christmas and New Year, I know they're songs off by heart now 🤣
  22. Oh I'm getting sooooo excited,we're on QV for Christmas & New Year 😀😀😀 great pix, thank you
  23. Even though I'm veggie,my OH isn't and he sometimes struggles as to what to choose, seems silly they put two veggie options on the main menu as there is a separate vegan/vegetarian menu which I'm always given, although after saying that,it's been the same menu for the last 4 years, off on the Christmas/New Year cruise and I know what I'll be having already 😂
  24. That sounds good, been veggie for over 30 years and once tried scrambled tofu at a hotel,it was awful lol hopefully Cunard does it better
