  1. I wonder if they closed out his folio at the end of the original cruise? Not that that's a decent excuse, mind you.
  2. This situation is a tad different. Imagine if they tested on aircraft prior to arrival, you tested positive, and were stuck on the aircraft in coach for as many as 21 days... Yeah, they'd need to warn you about that possibility! Rather than having tens of thousands of pax drilling down through governmental sites looking for cruise-specific rules, yes... the carrier posting current rules for cruise pax would be most helpful.
  3. Turns out that Bananavan isn't dealing with a COR for U.S. requirements to fly home. Rather, it's an incredibly strict policy in Italy that won't let her set foot off the ship yet. See here. It's really strange. Wouldn't want a cruise disembarking in Italy at the moment.
  4. I used to have issues with certain Nord VPN servers and Celebrity.
  5. Wow. World's most expensive screen saver art. The 'ad' doesn't even mention whether or not copyright is transferred as part of the NFT, which would prevent hundreds more from being created. Then again, if five are being sold, how could it be any other way? Look out, Park West.
  6. Ah, so this isn't your typical 'still testing positive but healthy to fly home' COR! Yikes. Testing positive on any cruise disembarking in Italy would be a real train wreck. I understand Bananavan's situation more clearly after your post of the Italian site.
  7. Very good. We had to watch it twice for some reason. Must have been an X IT glitch rather than separate viewing requirement. It was back in November for a restart cruise.
  8. A few things have happened that have caused some additional focus on suites, many COVID related. There seem to be a lot of suite questions from many X suite newcomers who have combined COVID-caused FCC or have taken the MoveUp route. Inexperienced with the suite experience, they have a lot of questions in setting their expectations. There is a mix of "Revolutionized" and "Non-Revolutionized" M/S class ships, the latter postponed indefinitely due to COVID, and there is a difference in what each offers to suite guests. Both new and prior suite guests are trying to sort out what each ship offers them based upon ship class and Revolution status. Those that are suite repeats have reported stretched staffing on some ships, noting specifically that suites have been running full (see 1st paragraph) with lower staffing or less experienced staff in suite-specific venues where this hasn't ever been the case before. Again, this is a function of COVID-era staffing issues and crewmember quarantines due to positive tests. Since the extra service normally provided to suite guests as part of the package has been spotty on some ships, it's being commented upon here. So suite commentary here seems to have increased since the restart.
  9. Yes. IIRC, if you choose to watch the muster drill on your phone, the system will want to see that it's been viewed by each of you separately, too. Also handy for watching OBC balance for each of you.
  10. Interesting. We had to show the vax card as part of the process of getting past port personnel just to enter the building.
  11. I guess my point is that a negative test obviates the need for a Certificate of Recovery. So ... ???
  12. I don't understand. The whole point of a Certificate of Recovery is to cover those who are still receiving positive PCR results even though well and unlikely to be infectious. It happens. PCR tests can pick up dead virus DNA for some time after the patient returns to good health.
  13. How did you even get TO check-in without showing your card?
  14. Ours never did clear before we boarded. Didn't matter. They checked them at check-in anyway.
  15. As some others have suggested ... self test day before. If positive with any symptoms at all (sniff, sniff), present yourself to medical for confirmation?
  16. Yeah, if you like Motor City Wine, you'd like the original Michael's concept. We enjoy it, too. Not sure what @kwokpot means about none of what was listed being normal for other cruises. Afternoon tea and a few munchies before dinner have been typical on our non-TA cruises, along with occasional solo music performances. We did have officers in and out periodically as well. Silent Disco - no, that was a separate event held elsewhere. Trivia the same.
  17. Still get a chuckle out of the potential consequences of that second paragraph. Our next cruise will indeed sail from the EU (out of Barcelona) before 30 November (31 October TA = BCN > FLL). If one becomes positive during the TA, and has not yet had the requisite number of days in isolation to travel commercially to get home, taken at face value, one could stay aboard after reaching FLL. However, in this instance, the prospect of remaining aboard afterward is ... er ... interesting ... given that the Reflection cruise following ours is a Bliss cruise! 😲
  18. OBC is above and beyond other items. Call and ask for detailed invoice if you don't yet have one. I assume you booked 'online' direct with Celebrity? When you get a proper invoice, the details will be coded, but we can help you interpret them if needed.
  19. Doesn't mean they have been anywhere near as successful in backfilling crew as they expected they might be when they first started planning staffing for Beyond. Meanwhile, they were already taking bookings well in advance of that. Options? Cancel Beyond bookings or deal with slim pickings for crew.
  20. Having to staff up Beyond at this time will have inevitably made a difficult problem worse, yes.
  21. Assume that was a tongue in cheek response. The lines often work through agencies abroad for staffing. Assuming you could get U.S. citizens to deal with the work and pay (even more unlikely now than it was pre-COVID), agencies would need to be formed here to provide the personnel.
  22. There's an assumption somewhere in there that most pax have just recently booked, not many months ago, and that the ongoing difficulty in getting staff was predictable back then. Am surprised we are hearing that the logistics part of staffing is still so difficult.
  23. Interesting. We showed no photo ID anywhere during our Nov cruise except at the Tampa terminal, and definitely not St. Kitts, to access a port area after leaving it. All that was required was a quick flash of our SeaPass card during the entire cruise.
  24. Why was someone who had never been on a ship given the contract for ship redesign? Not because she came cheap, you can bet. Just bad management decisions.
