  1. Yep, already done, just covering all bases 🙂
  2. Can anyone give me an idea what the current cost is for alcohol on board Aust cruises with Princess ie for example for cocktails. mixed drinks and also wine in the MDR. Trying to do sums to work out if Plus package worth it for a short cruise. Any snapshots of menus welcome 🙂

  4. I just found a workaround to a problem we had. I booked dining slots on my app but even though it said they were accepted and it gave me a little heart in top corner it didn't actually record the bookings. But it did on my husbands, and when I tried to book again it still didn't work for me but it put a second booking for same time on his. So I went into web version of app and was able to follow prompts to put a booking in and it was accepted, and thankfully didn't do a duplicate in my husband's app. So now it registers correctly on both our apps. Weird eh.
  5. Might be a problem for us on a two night cruise 🙂
  6. Thanks for that. I did go in that way but got error message. I am guessing that this is USD? (our cruise is Australian). Much appreciated
  7. A few years since my last cruise, used to be able to ring down and get a 375ml bottle of gin sent to cabin. Not on Princess Plus so wondered if still available and price list. Particularly interested in Gordons Gin and also a pack of mixers.
  8. Luckily Australia is still immune from the US tipping culture, long may it remain so!
  9. I agree, I would always rather have it included upfront as part of the cost rather than have to worry about it afterwards.
  10. Thanks, did not know that applies to drinks as well. Cool!
  11. Think I remember that there were no gratuities on our cruise with Princess some years ago in Australia, is this still the case?
  12. Can I ask what are the main changes since covid cruising?
  13. We went to Japan a few years ago on the Diamond and loved it.
  14. Enjoy yours too! This is our 1st cruise since Antartica 4 years ago (thanks Covid) and unreasonably looking forward to it!
  15. Really weird, both other legs came up as available this morning but now all 3 legs (including ours) are coming up as unavailable. Don't they normally say "sold out" if it is really sold out?
  16. The unavailable cruises have just come back as available with cabins available in all categories, so all good now. Still not sure why it happened, agree that it might have been due to cabins being released for sale as it is now only 2 months off. It must be interesting for them to apportion cabins when there are 3 segments to a cruise.
  17. Nope, no change. Our cruise is still fine but the bigger cruise it is a part of is still not currently available. I am suprised more people have not seen this and could help. Why would casino offers be relevant?
  18. I know the question sounds stupid but the cruises in question were listed as available before. We are on a 2 day seacation Sydney to Brisbane cruise on Royal on April 6, and our cruise is listed ok but the bigger cruise it is a part of (we are the first leg), 21 days Sydney to Tokyo is now "not currently available", as is the third leg 19 days Brisbane to Tokyo. Of course it is hard not to worry that our little one might be cancelled (though it is in Australia at that point anyway). I am sure I have come across the notation in the past but can't remember what it actually means. Can anyone advise?
  19. Apologies if this has been answered already - we have our first post-covid cruise coming up in a couple of months and we have selected our table (for 2) and time in the app - how does this work in practice, do you still have to queue or are there queues for those who have booked and those who have not? we have selected an early dining time so theoretically shouldn't be a wait, but wondered how it actually works out now.
  20. I have had too many instances of being quoted completely different answers depending on who I talk to, at Princess and basically everywhere else. I have a background in Consumer Protection and really like to have something in writing that I can refer to if the situation does go pear shaped.
  21. I have to say I have problems with accents on the phone and frankly, I don't trust anything told me verbally - if possible I get the other party to put it in writing.
  22. I did a lot of research on this insurance question for our short domestic cruise in April, particularly the question as to whether it was covered by our credit card international travel insurance. The bank itself was useless on this but the insurer (Allianz) was thankfully very clear... Please be advised that the PDS booklet defines ‘overseas’ as “outside of Australia and its territories and includes when you are aboard a foreign registered cruise vessel in Australian territorial waters”. – this means that cruises ships with foreign registered vessel have provision for cover under the international travel insurance, which does have as a benefit international medical expenses. Medicare will definitely not covered medical expenses on board so this coverage is welcome. Australian Frequent Flyer website has a recent article on insurance offered by various credit cards and what the minimum spends are to qualify (for mine, Westpac Altitude it is $400 pp)
