  1. I just purchased The Cheers for our upcoming cruise.

(Our 3rd time buying Cheers.) Out of Galveston.

Only charged for 6 days of 7 day cruise. If anyone is wondering. Cheers not available the first day I guess.

I love trying different drinks that I otherwise would not. White Russian after dinner is YUM. And the Chocolate Martini and many more.:p

    10 more days.

  2. Just wondered if anyone has done this tour on their own?

Either pre-booked a local or just get transport at the pier?

How much did it cost to get into the mansion? Etc.

Undecided if we should pre book through ship or just wing it??

There are 4 in our party. Not really into shopping. Would like to hit Doctors Cave Beach as well. And maybe some jerk chicken.

    Thanks for any help.

  3. Hey Afcruiser. 9 Days for us on the Pride out of Baltimore next week. We almost had the Fantasy out of Charleston this week, but work wouldn't approve so we decided on Baltimore.

Jamman's a bad influence on me. I read his reviews and I'm on Carnival site looking for deals lol. He oughtta be a spokesman for them.

    Hi Sammee

Jamman is a legend in his own time. :p

Have fun on your cruise. We're on the Magic in 49 days. One daughter is going. We'll visit the other post cruise. Are you guys cruising solo?

No Jamman review for the Magic though. Not yet anyway.

  4. We booked through the largest cruise booking company in the world, and our reservations were all viewable directly on Carnival's website for months prior to the cruise. All reservations were linked in both TA's and Carnival's systems (as well as reservation paperwork and boarding documents), and dining times were confirmed through Carnival's online system. It was clearly Carnival's miss. Frankly, we were told by the Maitre'D that they had the wrong cabins linked together in their system.

It really is irrelevant where or how the issue happened. Customer service is about how you handle a situation, not looking for blame. In this case, Carnival should have move our cruise companions to our table and been done with it. They treated us as if WE were the problem, even though we were in the second most expensive cabins on the ship.

I know when we booked a cruise with 2 other couples, I had to get their booking numbers to request the same table at dinner. They can link the booking numbers not cabin numbers.

Not sure what your TA did???

I would have been disappointed to.

That's why we always book through carnival. We have an absolutely awesome PVP.

To note, last cruise we did ATD for the first time. It was nice to be flexible but I think we prefer Early seating when cruising with friends/family.

If it's just us, then ATD is great.

  5. We didn't have any on our Liberty cruise. Just the soap and shampoo in the shower.

We also had to ask for the Room Service Breakfast door hanger, which was quickly delivered.

We also had to ask for ice. When we needed it.

Our room steward was great. Greeted us by name when we saw him.

We had booked an interior for the first time so I though maybe that was why.

    We usually book Balcony.:p

  6. We waited til day 2 and got it at the Red Frog on Lido, but as soon as you get on ship there is that table. I just wasn't planning on drinking that much on the first day, too tired from the trip to get to cruise.

Hey AFCruiser, good to see you here. Maybe we'll meet on another cruise in the future. I'm missing my Mango Swirls.

    Hey sammee,

That's what we enjoyed about the cheers program. Trying drinks we probably wouldn't have.

Hubby's telling everyone we had to come home cuz we ran the Caribbean out of Rum.:p

Hope our cruise paths cross again someday.

  7. Welcome back Mary! Always good to hear from you. Hope you had a great cruise. Did you run into my buddy Crusin Karen onboard? She was staying on for the next cruise also.

No Darnit, but I was hoping to.

I wondered how her packing dilemma went. I to, hate flying.

Orlando airport is so busy. We get checked in, hubby puts his bag on the scale and they said. Sir you need to remove 3 lb's from your bag.

Never mind the 7+ lb's we gained on the cruise.:p

Loved Aruba. We went to De Palm Island. Nice relaxing day. The trip back was slow due to all the people port area. Stop and Go....

Not enough time to shop so just told hubby we'll just have to go back again.:p

  8. Thanks for reading! We will be back at St. Kitts on the Breeze in August, hopefully, I'll be able to see the top of that hill then. :D

Have to give you a top 4, though technically, some of them aren't in the Caribbean. Then again, I've never met an island I didn't like....:D

    1. Half Moon Cay

    2. Bermuda

    3. Grand Turk

    4. Aruba

    Hello Jeff,

We're just back from our 8 day to Bon Aire, Aruba, and Grand Turk.

Our cruise was the first time a Carnival Ship has been to Bon Aire. It was fabulous. They had a big party on the dock and gave a plaque to the Captain to commemorate. Lot's of people gathered to watch sail away.

First time a whale tail was in their port.

I see you snuck in another cruise. :p

We also booked another for October. Need to get it up on a countdown.

You know how back to work and reality is post cruise.

Plus the trial for our niece started yesterday so we left work early. Very sad and emotional. :(

    Just had to chime in.

    Mary

  9. If W is full, there are a number of small places in this area .... near where 192 meets A1A, and you are also close to a lot of little places to eat ... we head to the area frequently for dinner (live close by) .... popular with the locals but off the tourist path.

We stayed at W when we came down house hunting at retirement (33 years) back in 07 .... very friendly folks and a nice quiet location. We had the room on the top floor of the main building.

I think this is the area I stayed in years ago. Might of been 07.

We stayed at a smaller Motel right on the beach. Sign said Mrs Clean lives here. I remember this restaurant where they had numerous pic's of sunsets people would bring in.

We went when the Sea Turtles were laying and it was a full moon. We just sat quietly on Beach and watched them dig and lay egg's. Amazing.

I fell in love with the Melbourne area back then.

Then we headed up to Cocoa Beach for their Fest on the Beach.

    Learned 2 things that day.

Should of named it Cocoa Beach Breast Fest and

Thong Bathing suits are NOT one size fits all.:p

    What an experience.

    Thanks for the info.

We'll be in Wed night. So excited. So we'll have all day Thur to look around.

    Thanks again.

    Mary

  10. If I'm looking at the right place

    http://www.anthonysonthebeach.com/

that's at the south limit of Cocoa Beach and immediately north of Patrick AFB.

there are a couple of rest's walking distance but not many ... a couple are seedy and a couple are very good. Don't know that any are open for breakfast (unless you have access to Patrick). South walk is nothing until you get south of the base and SR-404 ... about 4 miles

Most popular place in the walking area is Taco City for lunch or dinner .... small and simple but been here 4ever . . .

    http://tacocity.net/

my recommendation for one night with a good breakfast

    http://www.windemereinn.com/

Thanks Cap't. Knew you'd come through for us. Thanks for your years of service. Hubby is 22 years retired AF.

  11. Planning to stay 1 night post cruise in this area.

Kind of looking at Anthonys on the Beach to unwind.

Prefer the smaller Mom n Pop's places.

Anything around for food op's or morning coffee nearby.?

Or does anyone recommend a place.?

Looked at Crowne Plaza, seems nice but to big.

    Thanks

  12. We have booked our last 2 B2Bs (for 2013 & 2014) while on cruises.

We used to book right after we got home when they had the Future Cruise Certificates which gave you OBC when booking. Since they discontinued those a couple of years ago, we now book onboard.

We're sailing on a B2B the last 2 weeks of January. I already have done all of the research & chosen our 2016 B2B. If you plan to book onboad, it's really a good idea to know what you want to book before you sail. There may be a long line at the loyalty desk and he/she won't have a lot of time to research for you.

There are no special deals. Price (& deposit) are the same as if you booked online yourself. The incentive for booking while on a cruise is the OBC you'll receive on your next cruise.

    DITTO.

THEY SHOULD JUST BRING BACK THE FUTURE CRUISE CERTIFICATES.

LAST CRUISE WE TRIED TO BOOK ONBOARD BUT COMPUTERS WERE DOWN.:(

HOWEVER WE WERE ABLE TO BOOK ONCE WE GOT HOME WITH OUR PVP AND THE GALS NAME FROM THE CRUISE DESK. GOT OUR OBC WITH NO PROBLEM. SAILING IN 9 DAYS ON THAT CRUISE.:p

ALSO HAVE OUR FIRST B2B PLANNED AND WILL BOOK ONBOARD THIS CRUISE.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO CURE PCD.:p

  13. We are 20 days away from sailing the Ecstacy, we are staying the night before so that's 19 days away!!! This is the time that I start getting VERY nervous. I am very much a planner and just hope that everything goes smoothly. I am also up for a promotion at my job and hope that it doesn't conflict with my plans. Due to unforseen problems my interviews for the promotion have been postponed going on a month now. It would be just my luck that they'd want to interview me or have me start around the time of the cruise. I'm also worried about the weather here in GA, we are prone to ice storms mid to late January. I can't wait till there is only a week left, that will ease my worry a little bit. This is my 30th birthday getaway and I'm hoping nothing will stop it!!! I will try to remain positive...all of my past cruises have gone off without a hitch, this one should go as smoothly.

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Forums mobile app

WE'RE DOIN THE SINGLE DIGIT DANCE. WOO HOO.:p

CONGRATS ON THE UPCOMING PROMOTION. WOULD BE SWEET TO GET A PROMOTION THEN CELEBRATE ON A CRUISE. :p

FLIGHTS WERE CANCELLED AT OUR AIRPORT YESTERDAY DUE TO COLD. 15 BELOW. I AM STRESSING OUT TO THE MAX.

    NOT PACKED.

HUBBY IS SICK AND JUST CALLED IN TO WORK.

I FEEL ALL OF YOUR FEARS.:p

HAPPY SAILS AND KEEP US POSTED.

  14. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING YOUR PICS.

WE'LL BE THERE IN JANUARY AND HAVE NOT BOOKED AN EXCURSION.

COULD WE JUST GET OFF THE SHIP AND DO THE TROLLEY TOUR?

THAT WATER LOOKS FABULOUS AND I CANNOT WAIT TO GET IN IT.:p

I ALSO ENJOY HEARING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE ISLANDS WE VISIT.

    THANKS AGAIN FOR POSTING.

    I'M A MARY B. FUNNY

  15. HI JEFF.

LOVING YOUR REVIEW AND SADDENED IT'S COMING TO AN END.:(

WE CRUISED ON HALLOWEEN LAST YEAR AND DOCKED AT COZUMEL ON HALLOWEEN. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE IN PORT WERE DRESSED UP. SOME WERE PRETTY ELABORATE COSTUMES.

ARE YOU REALLLY GOING TO MAKE US WAIT UNTIL NEXT AUGUST FOR ANOTHER FAB REVIEW??

OR ARE YOU GOING TO SNEAK ONE IN? .:p

OOPS GOTTA GO. MY 7 WEEK OLD GRAND SON IS HERE. I GET TO BABYSIT TODAY.:p
