    I just received an email from Carnival... thanking me for my “online selection” concerning my cancellation.  I did not cancel and I’ve paid in full.  So my PVP must have handled it for me .  She was going with me (long time friend).  So take it for what it’s worth,  but my 10/2 booking was cancelled by Carnival today.  After 4 cancellations, I just took a refund .  The email states information “concerning my cancelled cruise due to their recent announcement”...

    This is a rebook (3rd time), this is exactly what happened the last two times.  Also, I booked the Queen Mary Hotel for the night before(I was a tour guide there in the 80s, I am also a past Carnival Crew Member).  I received an email from Queen Mary Hotel Cancelling my reservation, as they do not anticipate being open in October.  The Queen Mary is permanently berthed literally a few yards from Carnivals dock, they share a parking lot.  So I don’t know, but this is the current events as of right now

Speaking to my friend at Carnival ...  today’s information is “most all of the ships set for August and September are at or near our self imposed capacity “,  and that they “are accessing the situation “.   She is not very positive today .   She will never speak negatively about Carnival, very loyal after 35 years, but is pretty frustrated today.  So that’s the info I have so far.  I’ll post if I get any more.

She has not been informed of any cancellations as of now.  Only they have to stop most bookings before October 1 due to capacity.  She said of course they could get a whole different directive tomorrow, or anytime.  But this is what they have directed as of today.  She said the last two weeks she could have worked 24/7, lots of re-bookings of course but just as many completely new bookings.  People are ready to cruise.

  6. Yes, my friend (this a close friend over 35 years, college roommate) said that is what they were told yesterday. “Bookings were pulled” (her words) for August and September (maybe a few exceptions) due to “capacity restrictions “.  That’s what they are saying so far

Just spoke to one of my closest friends who is a Carnival CC (30 years), I am also a past Carnival crew member; she said they were directed late yesterday no more bookings for August or September due to over capacity.  She said the last two weeks have been the highest number of bookings she has ever seen.  She says that’s all she knows, but anything can happen.  They can book October forward only.  She and I have a 60th birthday booking for October 2nd... but who knows

  8. As a past Carnival crew member, many many years ago Casino.... couldn’t agree more. One of the best choices I ever made in my life, I’m a US citizen from California.  I wasn’t trying to escape anything, did save a lot of money for the time... but what  I learned and experienced....  priceless

I have the same thing.  My booking is completely gone.  I got a new phone and was just checking all my apps and my booking number says doesn’t match name?  I’ve messaged my rep.  My rep is a close friend of 40 years, and is also going on this cruise.  If she answers, ill report.  Probably not until the morning

  10. I was a crew member on the Tropical 1982-1984 (went to Festivale for a couple months).  Ships were night and day different.  I was a casino dealer, one of only a few departments where a woman could work back then, very few Americans also.  Some of the best times in my life.
