  1. Appreciate the comments. We've visited Montreal a few times and enjoyed it, but have some time constraints this time. My main concern with catching the train is Holland America's note that arrival time is subject to tidal conditions.
  2. We're booked on a Holland America Boston to Montreal cruise in June. Looking for opinions about whether we could safely plan to catch Amtrak from Montreal to New York at about 11am that day.
  3. We were on that cruise. That experience made a lasting impression. We barely made a 2pm flight.
  4. I've used the patch many times and have found it to be very helpful with no side affects. My wife on the other hand tried it once and got double vision.
  5. It's not worth it if it isn't helping, but we don't know how much it helps. The cruise lines do know, since they know how many positive results come from pre-departure testing and whether that number is rising or falling.
  6. Testing before the cruise is a bother, but it may have helped keep ships from going from orange to red in the CDC reporting. Whenever the testing ends, the media will be keen to report on any major outbreaks that might follow--publicity the cruise lines can ill afford. The cruise lines know how many folks are denied boarding due to a positive test. As long as that is a significant number, they may be reluctant to risk ending testing.
  7. This thread has been quite helpful. I fear anecdotal evidence is the best we will have. There is clearly an elevated risk of illness and/or disruption on a cruise or any other form of international travel. We each have to decide what our own risk tolerance is. I tested positive two days after my first flight after the mask repeal. Ironically, it was also two days before the date of a cruise that I had previously cancelled for non-covid reasons.
