  1. Finally, a topic I read all 58 replies. So tired of the usual ones asking about upgrading the drink package, how much to tip, can I make the 9:00 AM flight home, Can I carry on a case of water, do I have to bring an evening gown, can I bring my toaster oven, which side of the cabin is the bed on, what time does the midnight buffet start, which side of the ship is better, will I see a whale, etc., etc. Thank you, OP. A fun topic.
  2. I'm sure you can list 50 or more topics that have been beaten to death on this forum!
  3. Not sure when your cruise is, but they change every few months or so.
  4. And (sadly) these shows have been running on the Summit for over 8 years now. Time to swap a new one or two in.
  5. Are there many taxis waiting in st. George? We were thinking an option would be to ferry over to st. George, wander around, the taxi it back to kings wharf. Or better the other way around?
  6. As others said, nothing within a mile of the terminal itself, but plenty on the way in. Costco, Walmart, food, drug store, etc. all along Rt. 440 as you near the cruiseport. Almost anything else you can find on Broadway in Bayonne ( liquor stores, restaurants, etc.).
  7. We are considering one of the star loft suites on either the Oasis or Symphony OTS. There are two suites in this category. One suite faces the stern (overlooking the mini golf), the other faces out to sea. Can anyone comment on their experience in either of these rooms (such as noise, size of balcony, layout of room, etc.?
  8. I used to live in Bayonne, passed that motel everyday going to college. There were reports in the newspaper quite frequently about drug arrests or other nefarious activity being raided by Bayonne's finest.
  9. Good advice about not doing the caves while on tour. I did the bermuda byways tour (without wife) a few years ago. Wife wants to just tour the island to see the sights. The most a 5 minute stop for a photo.
  10. Good to know. I read some reviews on TripAdvisor where people stated their driver was near silent throughout the trip, or they got a flat tire and spent close to an hour of their trip at a garage and the driver did not give them a reduced fare for that lost time. You want someone friendly and chatty and knowledgable.
  11. Last question on the blue flag taxis (I hope): Are they in a queue and you need to take the first in line, or say you don't like the looks or attitude or something about the first, can you go down the line and pick one you prefer?
  12. Can I assume there would be a line of the blue flag taxis right on the pier? What is their hourly rate?
  13. We are sailing on the Summit in a few weeks. Wondering which production shows are currently in the theater. Also, any comments on the other (singers, magicians, or comedians) who recently worked the Summit?
  14. Why can't you just drive up and park at the pier? This option may solve a lot of logistical issues. Plus a lot less handling of your luggage and supplies. The cost may be the same as your original plan and save you some time and worry.
  15. We've been on the Summit 5x out of Bayonne (3x to bermuda, 2x to Canada & new england). I was hoping that one day, X would send a different class ship to Bayonne. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they send the eclipse. (Even though I'd rather see an edge class ship!)
  16. Looking at the summer '24 schedule, I saw that the Summit will be in Alaska. Has X given up sailing out of Cape Liberty during the summer? For ever? Will they send another ship to replace the Summit out of Bayonne?
  17. I see where you are going with this. RCCL installed "Panoramic" suites (star class) on their Oasis OTS. The bedroom extends out over the bridge wings and has floor to ceiling windows, but no balcony. Living room has zero windows and looks very dark. This suite is usually available and the last to be booked.
  18. Very true about very broken up. Vary odd layout. BUT you do get QG benefits. This definitely makes this a hard call.
  19. Good point about the $$$. Forward facing and high up, so only seagulls could look in.
