  1. Are your flights thru Oceania, with included transfers?
  2. Also, when in a PH, I have rarely found our butler to do do any better than my going to deck 5.
  3. Not sure if this is a new thing. Was on the Vista transatlantic in a concierge cabin. I would go to deck five at 8:00 to make an extra reservation. Even if there was availability, I was waitlisted because I had already booked my 4, plus a few extra. They actually checked out how many times I had eaten previously.
  4. Not sure when sunrise and sunsets are, but if you are up, they can be fantastic.
  5. I too, was there twice on the Marina..
  6. Bora Bora is now limiting size of ships
  7. Doing an overnight in Bora Bora in March on the Regatta. Oceania’s other ships are too large to visit.
  8. Thought you meant Deception Island. Visited there in 2007. Love your blog. Amazed at all the planning of your shore excursions. thanks for sharing.
  9. In your most recent blog post is the island you referenced, Deception Island, not destruction Island?
  10. Thank you for responding. We will be going the other way. Sydney to Tahiti. And yes, we love the R ships.
  11. We will be joining the Regatta in March. How is the ship overall? Have been on the other R ships, but not the Regatta
  12. The leather store stop I was referring to was a stop off the highway on the way to Florence.. the whole bus spent about 30 minutes there. Found out later that the transfer that stops in Pisa doesn’t do the the leather factory stop. there is also a leather school behind the Santa Croce church that has fantastic items. Good prices and they ship.
  13. Just to clarify the above. The meeting place is by Santa Croce, but it is a 15 to 20 minute walk from the bus drop off. Also, check to see if you have a stop at a leather factory on the way..
  14. Check your coverage. For two people the coverage should be $20,000.00
  15. I agree with your post for the most part. Sometimes it pays to use Chase points to purchase tickets. Last January I needed round trip business class tickets JFK to EZE (Buenos Aires). Cost of award tickets were out of sight. So I used the Chase points to purchase. For me it worked this time. Most times I will transfer to United. One point about using Chase to purchase tickets. I wound up with a discounted business class ticket so I received less AA miles than I expected. Booking round trips next September for JFK to FCO direct using miles was exorbitant. Only way to get a reasonable redemption was doing stopovers in London. 57,500 versus 200,000 or more. If I didn’t get the 57,500 redemption, it would probably made sense to buy the tickets, Buying tickets for cash presents a problem if you need to cancel.
  16. Thank you for confirming this. We tend to book our own air, most times using miles. And pay with the related airline card.
  17. Is this the same for Chase Ultimate reserve?
  18. What airline and or hotel is refusing to let you make a change. Please let us know, so no one uses them in the future.
  19. How is that Northern Pacific crossing? Is it normally that rough?
  20. So, they will still ask for your card at lunch to confirm your package. As time goes on it seems a waste of the staff‘’s time as less and less people will have o-life. ‘’Are two people, in same cabin, able to text each other?
  21. If you booked under o-life, do you get free wine and beer at meals?
  22. Looking to do that our 2nd day in Bora Bora. We booked this cruise under the old system so we have 4 O life shore excursions for each of us. Don’t want to waste them Will probably do private in New Zealand, as we have been to those stops before.
  23. We are on the March 2024 cruise. Our roll call is not very active. Looking for advice from anyone who has done this cruise and used any of the Oceania excursions, looking for any that you thought were worth the cost or experience. Or, if you thought they were bad, to avoid. Any comments would be greatly appreciated .
