  1. I’m assuming you’re asking why the Glory is in Miami with people on it? I’m guessing she’s on a trip to take crew members back to their homes. Probably getting supplies. Several Carnival ships are making trips to take their crew members to various countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.

My March 21 cruise was cancelled, rebooked for May 9, got the fcc and 600 obc. May 9 cancelled and have rebooked for July 4 last Monday.  Everything is supposed to be transferred again to new booking. They’re still working on the transfer.

UPDATE 4/7:  Received my new cabin confirmation email today. When I rebooked, the early saver rate was a little more, bur received $100 obc instead of $50. They showed I now have $700 obc. Funny, seems every cancel/rebook has been just a few dollars more, the exact same itinerary, just different dates. Guess it’s because of the seasonal differences in the rates.  Sure hope we don’t get cancelled again. Praying things are so much better by July!

  3. There are so many, it’s hard to pick just one. My favorites are the maitre ‘d Aaron and the dining hostess Rico Rose on the Liberty in January. Aaron is fairly new at his position, but he’s doing a wonderful job, so friendly and full of energy! He even dances on the table with his wait staff, he says he won’t ask them to do something he won’t do!  He and Rose would stop by our table every night to talk with us. Hope to see them again if they’re still there in November!

Thanks Bostwick Girl and Garnett!  Almost sounds fun!

Were you actually able to get off the ship as if it was a port of call and just board the ship later in the day?

We didn’t, but I understand you can. Guest services should be able to help you. Also look under the frequently asked questions about back to backs, that’s where I found most of the information.

  5. Did our first b2b in January, it worked really well. The night before debark, we got a letter from guest services explaining the process. We were to leave our luggage in the room (we had different rooms too), tell your steward where to move you, and meet in the lobby by 8:30. We had breakfast then went down to the lobby. Soon as we sat down, someone from guest services came and checked us in and any others who were b2b. Told us we had to wait till the ship was cleared. Was fun watching all those people getting off! Finally got the ship cleared then the guest services guy got us all (there were only 5), took us off the ship to customs where they checked passports. We had already gotten our new s&s cards while waiting to get off. Once we all cleared we went right back on board to the lobby, we were invited to have champagne and had a group photo then we could go to our new rooms. Was weird being the only ones on board. The whole process went really well. That was on the Liberty. Actually booked another one b2b yesterday if we ever get to sail again!  Only thing different will be we have the same room so won’t have to pack to move. Hope this answered All your questions, and feel free to ask any others. Happy cruising!

Just announced in press briefing from Corona Virus taskforce.

Hopefully Monday's announcement from Carnival relates to this.

I was waiting until my deadline to cancel, which had been Tuesday. Monday's phone lines will be jammed, I wish we could just cancel online and be given the choice of refund or FCC online.

My March 21 cruise was cancelled by carnival. In the next couple of days I had received an email from them explaining the options to either cancel for full refund to original form of payment or rebook and receive $600 OBC. I chose to reschedule. Unfortunately I rebooked for May 12!  Waiting now to see what's going to happen with this go round of cancellations.

Agreed, the PVP calls you and then sits on the phone while you decide what to do, instead of helping people who are ready?

My post #4 was response to your question. Accidentally left out your message, then posted twice! Sorry all.

  8. I guess I'm fortunate I can email my PVP. I am one of those people who only contact her when I'm ready to book. I always tell her to call me when she's got time to help me. When she calls, I've done my research and give her the information so she can advise me if she agrees with what I chose or if better options are available, then go from there.

I guess I'm not quite understanding your question. My way has worked pretty well for me over the years, not unnecessarily tieing up her time nor mine.

  9. I wouldn't expect mine to contact me. You probably got the email where you select the option to either cancel for refund or accept the on board credit, don't remember what it said exactly. Once that's been submitted, and if you chose to rebook, then either call or email your PVP.

  10. We should be getting some information today on what they are planning to do. I'm also supposed to be cruising on May 9 on Breeze. Was originally on the March 21 sailing, got cancelled, so soon as I got the notice from Carnival, submitted my form for the OBC and emailed my PVP. She called when she could, we got another booked for May 9, got the fares straightened out and the $600 OBC. So waiting now to see what happens with this one.

  11. First of all, I'm not cancelling any of mine until Carnival tells me to. That's how you get the options for full refund or FCC and OBC.  So my advice is not to cancel, let them do so. Don't worry about that deadline they gave earlier. They will provide all you need when it's time. Sounds to me like you have already cancelled, in which case you would not be eligible for the OBC I don't believe.

When you go into manage my cruise, then booking details, if you have any OBC it should show there.  If the one you're talking about is one you cancelled previously and rebooked, your OBC may not apply depending on what rate class you booked the new one under.

  12. We did our first b2b in  January, a 4 day then 3 day on Liberty because our friend couldn't make the first leg but wanted to go. Everything worked great for us. We had an ov on deck 2 and moved to an ov on deck 1. We did get a letter with some instructions on where to meet, and tell your room steward and they will move your luggage. So the last morning of leg 1 I told our steward, he looked a bit confused, but finally got it and said he would take care of it. I gave him the new room number and also put a note on my luggage. We went to breakfast on lido, went back to our old room for a few minutes, then went to our meeting place in the lobby on deck 3. Someone from guest services came over to check us in, eventually there were 7 of us waiting for the ship to be cleared. Enjoyed watching all the self assist passengers getting off, beats me how they can have so much luggage for 4 days! Finally got the ship cleared then the guest services director Kris came to get us. We walked off the ship just into the customs area where the customs agent checked our papers and went straight back on board. Oh, forgot they gave us our new cards before we left ship. When we got back into the lobby, they directed us to the bar for some champagne then got a group picture of us all. We finished up the champagne and went on down to our new room where our luggage was waiting! All went very smooth. Enjoyed being on board before very many passengers were too. It was very quiet! Hope to do another one someday. Will try to better plan so we could keep the same room.

  13. Well, I guess y'all are just lucky, I don't have that promotion! I'm only 19 days away from Diamond, so guess they don't think I need it, lol.  It's a great deal for those who did get it, my grandson had it and he was already looking for a Bahamas cruise for March 2021. I was checking his offers for him Thursday and saw it, so he went ahead and took advantage of it. He was going to book an interior room till this offer came along. Ended up booking a balcony room for just a few dollars more than the interior room was. I also booked under the early saver offer, my balcony room next to his was $479 more than his! Too bad for me, but good for him. I'll keep checking on this and the others I have booked in case they do extend that offer to me. Could be cheaper to cancel and rebook.

Can Carnival survive or do you think they are going to go bankrupt? Their stock is just a little over $9.00 this morning and I heard yesterday they just took out a 2 BILLION loan to help them for the next few months.

Also, should a company that registers its ship out of America so they don't have to pay taxes to the US get government support in the form of  a bailout?

And finally will you go back to cruising ASAP?

I don't think anyone can predict whether or not they will go bankrupt. Also heard about the loan. I'm sure there are plenty of companies in this same situation right now, maybe not as large a scale. I do believe they are entitled, they probably do pay a good bit of tax in the US, what about port taxes, payroll taxes, all those things? I personally would rather see them get bailouts than the airlines since I don't fly. I'm close to 5 ports in Florida so flying isn't important for me.  Cruising is important to me and certainly many others.

i had a cruise booked for March 21 which was cancelled by Carnival, not me. I would have gone regardless. Anyway, on the 16th, I rebooked the same cruise for May 9th, so yes, I'm ready to get back to cruising!

  15. I'm really not quite sure what you mean by the $300 unless you're talking about your deposit. Either way, the letter we received from Carnival for our cruise they cancelled says it can take up to 90 days to receive refunds. I rebooked for May and my summary shows the $600 OBC.

i do have some questions on my new reservation, so will be getting with my PVP shortly.
