  1. Candlewood Suites in Miami Springs, I'm thinking. I would order delivery, not much to do in the immediate area.
  2. With RU1 I've seen the additional cost to a booking vary from $0 to $100 per person. So definitely the best offer.
  3. RU0 is the worst of all CHEERS offers. I really wonder if anyone is crazy enough to book that rate code. The best one is RU1.
  4. Thanks for the answers. Does anyone here have personal experience with the Hampton Inn Winwood?
  5. Thank you. I'm looking for specific names that are really near a Publix. Some people find 10 minutes walking to be near, others 20, these ladies can't walk far.
  6. We travel to Miami often pre-cruise and always have a rental car, stay in Doral etc. Now I received this question from a family member and I don't know the answer. Two middle aged ladies, not able to walk far, no rental car, want to stay Downtown/Brickell. Not interested in trendy bars or hip restaurants but the hotel has to be close to something for a bite. Preferably very close to a supermarket. Any suggestions?
  7. We're visiting St Thomas soon and we want to spend the morning at a beach. One elderly family member can't really swim so I'm searching for a beach that has calm, shallow waters and an easy entrance. Like HMC. Any suggestions?
  8. It's walkable, but a long walk (for me). The water taxi is really cheap, right at the ship and will drop you off at the free beach, which is in front of the downtown shopping area.
  9. Personally I like the free beach on St Maarten better. You can take the water shuttle or walk to the downtown area.
  10. It all depends on what you want to do on your balcony. I've stayed in OT corner balconies on both MG and Celebration, decks 11, 12 and 15. All other balconies on the right can see you, but there are hardly people using their balcony. If you want to read, chill, have coffee, no problem. If you want to run around naked, these balconies are not for you. Pick the DS Excel suite instead.
  11. I have. About 15 times. And I love it. Breakfast is not included, but you can still pay and eat at their in-house restaurant Miranda. Great rooms, phenomenal bathrooms and the entire building smells so good.
  12. Hopefully one of you could help us out. I've been to St Thomas many times before but my Mom hasn't. We're scheduled to visit in July on Carnival Celebration and I only want to go to Mountain Top and Magen's Bay with her as she can't walk long distances. Please refresh my memory- if we book a private local tour or just a taxi, do we have to walk long to get where these vehicles are? Or just book a Carnival excursion so we can get on the bus nearby?
  13. We always stay in Doral and always use www.expressshuttlemiami.com I find Pink to be very expensive.
  14. Not on the newest ships. Celebration f.i. doesn't have an internet spot with PCs. If you need to have flight boarding passes etc printed, you need to send an email to Guest Services and they will print out for you.
  15. This area is great for shopping if you don't have a car. Walking distance to restaurants, the Miami International Mall and free shuttle to Dolphin Mall. We love Doral.
  16. Check out Comfort Suites on Mineola drive, close to the airport. Free shuttle from airport, free shuttle to cruise port, free breakfast. For dinner, order from GrubHub or any delivery service.
  17. This has been asked before, but I'm really trying to help 3 friends make their trip as easy as possible. 3 middle aged ladies, 1st time to California will be cruising out of LB on Carnival next February. Arriving at LAX late at night, spending 2 nights pre-cruise, they want to see some sights and to be able to walk to restaurants. Budget is $240 and under for the night, so it's slim pickings. Can someone recommend a hotel to these ladies to make it less overwhelming? Thanks in advance.
  18. We just came back from Amber Cove and had a wonderful private tour from Rigo Taxi, poptravel Dominican tours. They're on the book of faces, really awesome day.
  19. May I ask a question about this? I'm booked in a Sky Junior Suite and now notice that the price difference is $3000 with a Sea Jr suite on the same sailing. Are the Sky amenities worth the extra $$$? The square footage is the same and we're not fussy about location. Any advice?
  20. I've been to Grand Turk 3 times post Covid and never had to show any vaccination information. Maybe Carnival has the unvaccinated in their system and those guests get flagged when trying to disembark?
  21. With the inaugural sailing on Jan 27th almost sold out, I was pulled by everyone's excitement and now I have a really expensive stateroom on hold. 🙂 My question is - what will be so special on that inaugural sailing? Any special events, celebrities, give-aways?
