  1. So an "E-Ticket" isn't really an electronic ticket that you can use on your smartphone then? It's basically a boarding pass/embarkation form? I thought if I downloaded the MSC For Me app, it would appear on that. Airlines (even Spirit) and hotels all utilize apps to check-in/board.
  2. Based on the destination, this is what the MSC website states, for now: VACCINE REQUIREMENTS: All guests 12 years and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of embarkation. To be considered fully vaccinated: Your final dose in a 2-dose initial series of the Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca, Covishield, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Coronavac, Novavax/Covovax vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine must be completed at least 14 days prior to departure. A "mix-and-match" combination of the above list of vaccines is accepted. Guests must present their original vaccination card or certificate reflecting all required doses at the pier upon check-in. The vaccination certificate must be valid for the duration of the entire cruise. Guests who have recovered from COVID-19 do not qualify as fully vaccinated. Click here to review & accept terms & conditions and confirm that you will be fully vaccinated at the time of your cruise. COVID-19 TEST REQUIREMENTS: All fully COVID-19 vaccinated guests are required to show proof of a negative antigen or RT-PCR test taken no more than 2 days prior to ship embarkation. Guests must bring the valid negative test certificate with them to the terminal. MSC Cruises may provide additional testing, if necessary, at the terminal during embarkation or on board to protect our guests and crew. Be certain to follow testing requirements based on the dates above. All guests not fully vaccinated (based on the above vaccination requirements) are required to show proof of a negative RT-PCR test taken no more than 3 days prior to ship embarkation. Guests must bring the valid negative test certificate with them to the terminal. These guests will undergo an additional COVID-19 test at the terminal prior to embarkation provided by MSC Cruises, free of charge. The only exception is that no pre-embarkation or embarkation testing is required for guests under 2 years of age. TRAVEL INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: MSC encourages but does not require fully vaccinated guests based on the dates above, to purchase travel insurance either through MSC Cruises or another provider. If you choose to purchase travel insurance through MSC Cruises, the purchase must be made prior to final payment. COVID-19 ASSISTANCE: Fully vaccinated guests based on the dates above, are encouraged but not required to purchase travel insurance. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance, MSC Cruises provides COVID-19 assistance at no extra charge for U.S. and Puerto Rico residents who are fully vaccinated. Children under the required vaccination age based on the dates above, regardless of vaccination status, traveling with fully vaccinated parents/guardians (with proof of vaccination) also benefit from this assistance. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 14-days prior to your cruise, you and your traveling party will receive a full refund. If you test positive for COVID-19 at the terminal, you and your traveling party will receive a full refund and assistance, if required, with land-based quarantine. If you test positive for COVID-19 during your cruise, you and your traveling party will receive a pro-rated refund and assistance, if required, with onboard medical care and land-based quarantine. View our FAQs for additional details regarding Vaccine, COVID-19 Testing, and Travel Insurance requirements.
  3. This should be clarified via the MSC website (and the title of this thread) as they have a different requirement for other itineraries. For example, on our upcoming Caribbean cruise, MSC website states we do NOT need insurance (we purchased it anyway): TRAVEL INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: MSC encourages but does not require fully vaccinated guests based on the dates above, to purchase travel insurance either through MSC Cruises or another provider. If you choose to purchase travel insurance through MSC Cruises, the purchase must be made prior to final payment.
  4. No, we can't justify spending the extra money. We've been on a cruise every year since 2013, even from the beginning of the pandemic, I think they shut down the industry two weeks after our cruise ended in 2020.
  5. Does anyone have any idea which port Seashore docks at in St. Thomas? Havensight or Crown Bay?
  6. We're on the same cruise too, BTW.
  7. I found this on their website. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR CRUISES TO THE BAHAMAS & CARIBBEAN For ships departing from U.S. ports, wearing masks and social distancing onboard are optional for fully vaccinated guests and recommended but not required for unvaccinated children. Masks are optional unless required by local regulation in our terminals. Guests must follow all local mask regulations at public ports of call. Protocols are subject to change.
  8. What date did you pick for the Seashore? July 2nd or 9th?
  9. There are two threads, specifically for each ship in this topic (MSC). One for Davina here and one I started for the Seashore asking for passenger counts. Feel free to check them out.
  10. So is it my understanding that if one purchases the Easy Plus Package, which covers up to $9.00 drinks, and you purchase a $13.00 glass of wine, will you either 1) pay the $4.00 difference for the higher priced wine or 2) pay for the whole $13.00 out of pocket? Other lines I have been on would just charge you the difference.
  11. Just like your e-ticket, mine says (to the right of the terminal address), that we are required to wear a face mask while in the terminal and on board. Are both of these true? Do you need to wear one in the terminal, AND on board? It conflicts with what the MSC site says.
  12. Ah, lolz. That makes sense. I actually did hang up and call back, but the person was obviously from another country call center with a very thick accent. I couldn't understand him and he couldn't understand me.
  13. Sorry, what does HUCA mean?
  14. What's weird is that if we had used our Royal Caribbean (RC) status we'd have been at a lower tier with MSC. Even though they (RC) combined both our RC AND Celebrity cruises into our Crown and Anchor membership, they (RC) have us at Platinum. Celebrity, also combined our RC status into their Captain's Club membership, at the Select level, and translated to Gold level status with MSC. And Ironically, we've taken more cruises with RC (6 total each) and only 2 with Celebrity, but MSC gives a higher status based on the cruise line. https://www.mscbook.com/pages/sdl/img/B2B_TA_Status Match_Conversion Table.pdf
  15. We used our Select status on Celebrity to get Gold status on MSC. The nice thing is Royal Caribbean combined their points with our Celebrity cruises into one for the higher level. The MSC site, specifically for the cruise we booked either doesn't have much information or things need to fall in line, since we booked just a few days ago. They already tied my status and my wifes, but I can't seem to find any room credits, discount applied for being a Gold member (lol). Their customer service also seems to be lacking when I call. I got a person on the phone on Memorial Day when we booked, who sounded like she'd been drinking and couldn't answer any of my questions. Most of which were from the website, and she just read back, from the website what I had already read before. No questions answered. Thanks for your suggestion though.... : )
  16. Someone started a thread on passenger counts on the Davina, so I thought I'd start one on the Seashore for our upcoming cruise. What kind of passenger counts are you experiencing on the Seashore?
  17. I'm a little confused about the wording of MSC's Covid testing requirements. It says "All fully COVID-19 vaccinated guests are required to show proof of a negative antigen or RT-PCR test taken no more than 2 days prior to ship embarkation." So is 2 days prior, the day before and the day of the cruise? The day prior is our travel day and we don't want to go search all over Miami for a test site. Or is it 2 days prior to the day of the cruise? We recently went on Celebrity Summit and it was "two days" but they spelled the timing out perfectly to avoid confusion. For example, they said if you ship departs on a Sunday, you can get tested Friday or Saturday. Even our travel documents it stated the days we could get tested. And MSC's call center is no help either. The lady I talked to on the phone today sounded like she'd already started drinking and was just reading off of the MSC website, which I was calling to get clarification on. She had no clue.
  18. Used my Celebrity Select and became MSC Gold within 24 hours. Wife doing the same.
  19. So if I don't purchase the drink package at initial booking, do they have better deals later or would it be the same? What about when we board? We got a good deal on a drink package the first day, many years ago. And this is our first MSC cruise, so I don't know what to expect.
  20. We're looking for a cruise soon, first time with MSC. Looking at their site, it has different "offers" for the cruise. One says "Free drinks and wifi" from $948.00 pp. If it's "free" why are they charging for it? Free really isn't free it you have to pay for it. Not trying to be cheap either, we would be purchasing a drink package anyway, but it seems somewhat deceptive.
