Here's why someone on NCL told me to not cruise on Celebrity
padgman1 replied to Sigyn's topic in Celebrity Cruises
They do offer the answer sheet beforehand at the door....for a fee.😊 -
Was on this cruise with you, echo everything you have said. We had the best of both dining worlds as we stayed in an aft Sky Suite so had choice of Luminae and MDR menus for dinner. Looks like you solved your wine disappointments (somewhat) by asking for choices to be more readily available - good.

Off Silhouette TA last week, stayed in Sky Suite, so ate in Luminae for most dinners, some breakfasts, 1 lunch. Food there was good and enjoyable, as long as one likes different preparations that are not regular (different sauces and veggie combo that do not appeal to some folks). Fish and tuna steak ( had once at lunch, different prep at dinner) was very good, other meats a little fattier than I remember ( last previous cruise (Jan 2022 on Reflection, upgraded balcony cabin). Ate lunches in OVC and Mast Grill, fine ( don't expect everything but as good if not better than standard cafeteria food on land with more and varied dishes) ( burgers are not Five Guys quality, but nobody expects that). Fruit plates in Luminae outstanding with much variety ( mango, papaya, berries along with standards) but quality of fruit lessens as cruise lengthens, same in MDR for breakfast and lunch. Only ate in one specialty venue ( Lawn Club Grill - don't miss it). Have not been on higher-level cruise line like Oceania, Regent, Crystal, Silverseas, but food quality to me was fine. Oh, one other thing...one night we had dark chocolate souffle for dessert in Luminae. It was SO GOOD we asked our waiter if we could have one made the next night...we got one EVERY night after that.

Also for bourbon lovers , check out Craft Social on Silhouette… many specialty bourbons ( over Premium drink price) but at least good choices, including Knob Creek 9 year, Old Forrester 1920, and Makers Mark 101 ( have had ALL of them, well worth it )…

Good for you. Probably smart, too, as we currently have friends on Eclipse who have tested positive for COVID-19 while on the ship...( not to be a Debbie Downer, just being factual).

"Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." That happened to me many times between 20 and 40, not so much now.

You drink a lot.....of liquid.

Current Transatlantic/Repositioning Conditions...

I am. I have looked on that thread, my wife enrolled us on the Facebook page for this cruise as well. I can be identified by either the Indiana University or Chelsea FC paraphernalia I will have on at times. 2 weeks away !!! -

You should go into business doing this for someone. -

Hate to sound stupid, but where on Sea Scanner are you finding these availability charts ? -
Spring TA cruisers - What are you MOST looking forward to ?
padgman1 replied to padgman1's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I can sleep almost anywhere, so position is irrelevant. Plus, I will have time to read anything I might not have finished on the cruise. Finally, might get some decent food ( read A MEAL) in business class. -

We ( DW and I) are traveling to Amsterdam the day after our cruise lands in Southampton for 2-3 days to visit, our first time also - great minds think alike. Actually looking forward to the 10 hr flight from Amsterdam to Dallas... -
Is it the food? Is it a specialty drink? Is it Progressive Trivia? Is it the fact that you are on the ocean sailing to far off lands? Is it the Park West art auctions? Is it the stimulating conversation with Jim on his morning walks? Tell us ! Me - I am looking forward to some lazy days reading and playing games/trivia and eating any and all fish entrees in restaurants. Sorry, Jim, I'm going to be on the Silhouette. Maybe one day I can join you on a morning walk...

So, it looks like I need to start with the cookie flatbread for an appetizer, think about ordering the cookie medium for the entree, and DEFINITELY get the cookie with ice cream for dessert. Thanks all !
-
I'm afraid my flatbread would look like roadkill when I finished...
-
Did you finish that by yourself ?

Will be dining at the Lawn Club Grill on our TA on Silhouette in just over a month from now. Wanting to know previous diners' favorite items/things not to miss.

Thank you all for your responses. Hope to do a few of these suggestions on our April Silhouette TA.
