  1. As a follow up to my original question, here is how NCL handled the charter. The day before we were told to go to Bliss for check in. The original plan was for us to be given boarding passes and luggage tags right then, but with the bad internet access they couldn't. This caused long lines and on the go process changes by the officer staff who started handling out numbers. There apparently were some people trying to cut in line with the pre number process people and a few shouting matches happened. Security had to be called. Some lucky people did get their passes and tags then. NCL only had two printing stations setup. The plan changed to they would take your information and deliver the passes and tags later. Which processed the line but deferred the printing until later. Bags were originally supposed to be out by 7PM for NCL to take them to the airport for us and be check through to our first US or Canada destination, but many people had to wait until nearly midnight despite being told we would get everything by 7PM. Next we got told to meet at Aqua at 3:15AM for a 3:30AM disembark and shuttle to the airport. This also didn't go to NCL's plan, with a huge line forming at Aqua and up the main staircase which went in a loop to nowhere. I suspect they were trying to validate shuttle tickets but not everyone had repurchased so ended up telling everyone to just go to deck 5 to actually disembark. No one checked transfer tickets. Also no one was checking that you actually needed to be on the early disembark for the charter flights. When I asked an officer crew about the useless line at Aqua, they replied/lied it was to wait for the buses to be ready, but we had just seen a large group of people skip Aqua and go to deck 5 earlier. It was a mess. We got to the airport and through security with plenty of time. There were some corporate NCL employees who were organizing the charter process onboard the ship and charter plane. Overall NCL was way too optimistic about a process to check in about 400 people for two charter flights while onboard. The officer staff seemed to be making it up as they went and did not care that their poor planning wasted many people half a day waiting around and little sleep.
  2. The Star has different ones right now. They are aluminum cans with a tab pop top. From a company called Pure.
  3. On the current Star sailing they no longer are selling the 1L Flow water bottles. Instead they seems to have a new partnership with the company Pure for water and energy drinks. The new water are 16oz aluminum cans and are not resealable. Also the Pure energy drinks are included with the open bar package. Any other ships have this change too? We were disappointed about the water change since the new ones are not resealable.
  4. Using sites like Kayak instead of Google flight search shows most options with Tromso flights.
  5. The charter is for the same day departure from Tromso. With a deviation into Tromso I don't think they'll use it but I could be wrong. They are using Condor and Wizz airlines for the charters I know of, both going to Frankfurt before another flight back to the US. The Condor charter is a 757-300 with all economy seats to Frankfurt.
  6. Yes using the NCL transfer. There is also another charter at 7am based on the other site group.
  7. I don't trust NCL too much 😀 Never expected that using the BOGO would have resulted in this situation with a charter that on paper looks like most people would not make it.
  8. On our upcoming Star trip from Reykjavik to Tromso, the disembark start time was updated to 4am. The NCL flight we just got has us on a 6am charter flight which does not seem like enough time to disembark, transfer, and check into the airline. I called NCL and the air department claims that the plane will wait because it is a charter. We also have the NCL transfer booked. Anyone have experience with NCL charter flights and if they wait for everyone to make it?
  9. I think 110 days is the cutoff to add it. 75 days is for requesting a deviation.
  10. If you will be in the same cabin they will allow it to be used even if you are the 2nd person. The deposit doesn't need to come from passenger #1.
  11. On the other site there is a group specifically for that. The admin tries to enforce no markup on them.
  12. That might be changing if you are not the Pearl level. On 4/1 the CAS benefits charged.
  13. I have purchased them before and it is good for all day. The employees just take their half of the ticket. There is not a pre set time that you must use it. The line can get long though. We waited about 45 minutes.
  14. There is a chance that they applied the payments made to the extra purchases to your next reservation, especially if it was was more expensive. What does your last PDF invoice document say when you made final payment? Did you book directly with NCL?
  15. For the Viva and Prima balcony hot tubs, I think the reason is because the heaters were not working correctly.
  16. I suspect it is because those technically are upgrades. SJ is a higher category from SK. The system doesn't know the nuances of the trade offs with each category.
  17. My PCC would have updated a booking for our group to add the discount, but it causes a repricing to current promos and prices. At the time the cruise had gone up in price so it wasn't done. He did say it would be automatic going forward for new bookings.
  18. Has anyone gotten a FCC for a price drop after final payment and had the BOGO air promo? I'm not sure what they would say. The flughts haven't been ticketed yet.
  19. I have had non refundable OBC applied to shore excursions purchased on board.
  20. Just was in the Viva and it is not automatic. Very annoying that they don't ask or automatically apply the discount.
  21. The wrong city name is on the PDF guest confirmation document. It does list the correct airport code though.
  22. We boarded at 11 AM as non haven recently. The only wait we had was for security to begin processing people. No lines for check in and no waiting to board. The earliest official check in time was 11:30 AM. I don't see much of a reason to even have a haven waiting area.
  23. Have you had this happen before? It is sort of with NCL, the Casino at Sea department. They claim that the air department already told them that there is nothing to be done. I'll try calling the air department directly and see if they say the same thing.
  24. I paid off my upcoming cruise today and noticed on the invoice/confirmation PDF document that the return air city looks glitched. The disembark port is Tromso, Norway and we are using NCL BOGO flights. The city name incorrectly lists Amsterdam but with the correct airport code. Example would be "Amsterdam, CO (DEN)" when it should say "Denver, CO (DEN)". It was correct on earlier confirmation docs. I called CAS and the rep said it looked fine in their system, but they could see the mistake on the generated doc when they sent it to themself. They called the air department and was told it can't be fixed and it would be resolved when the ticket was booked. Anyone ever had this happen?
