  1. I agree with that 100%. I'm using a TA for my Disney trip in December, who's agency also owns and runs one of the largest Disney forum sites and are experts in and out anything Disney. The service, advise, and communication I have received has been impressive. Now the TA I am using for my Regent Seven Sea cruise in March has been good, but nothing like my DCL agent.
  2. I don't think there is any wrong answer here. But I do have to ask, how do you lose control. I was still able to book all my own excursions, restaurant reservations, spa, tastings and etc. The only thing I have to do is go through my TA to either cancel or make payments. As for manageable call times, My first DCL cruise was with a TA. My second I booked on line. When it was time to cancel the cruise in 2020 I was on hold for over 5 hours before finally getting ahold of a service rep. This time around I went back to a TA. Again, not attacking you, there is no wrong or right answer here.
  3. I will not be hard to please. I enjoy having a glass of wine, but really don't know a thing about wine other than it's white or red. Seriously, it's a bit more knowledgeable than that. But in truth I wouldn't know whether I was drinking a $15 bottle of Pinot Noir or a $150 bottle of Pinot Noir. LOL
  4. How about the Disney Sequel or the Disney Remake? Possible the Disney Mo Money? 😄 I love Disney, I have a Disney cruise coming up in December, and I do say this in joking. There is a lot of truth in this though. But as the good book says, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks,"
  5. We did the Disney Fantasy back in 2019 with our then 23 year old daughter and overall we enjoyed our Disney cruise. This was our first time cruising with Disney. Right now we have a 10 night cruise with RSSC coming up in March, but just booked a 5 night cruise on the Disney Dream in December in concierge. I'm looking forward to it. We are also big time Disney fans, (though it's getting harder to be) are DVC members, and for years went to WDW once a year and sometimes twice a year. I'll admit, I am not a big fan of the MDR and the food or service in it. I know most who are Disney fans rave about it, I just thought it was rather average. We plan on Dining in Remy twice, a dinner in Palo twice if I can get it, the Palo brunch, and if all goes as planned, just one night in the MDR. The shows are fun, the adult area is not bad, but the concierge exclusive area is awesome, the service in concierge is also great. If your a Disney fan I think you'll enjoy DCL as adults. For someone that is not a big Disney fan, maybe not as much. I say give it a try.
  6. Thank you for a well written review and the link with all your pictures. I have a 10 night cruise on the Splendor coming up in March, 2023 and will also be my first time with RSSC. In fact this will be my first time cruising with a luxury cruise line. My first cruise was with Carnival in 1989 (cut me some slack, I was only 25 LOL). In the past few years we have found cruising more our taste and have now cruised with Disney twice (Big WDW fans) and Celebrity once. Again, thanks for this review. You have me even more excited about our upcoming trip in March with Regent!
  7. Thanks for the excellent advice. I hope not to fat though, I've told my wife I'm trying to lose these 20 lbs so that I can sport my Speedo body. LOL
  8. My wife and I will be cruising with Regent for the first time. We will be on the Splendor, departing March 11th 2022, for 10 nights out of Miami. Right now until I retire in a few short years (when did I get old), this is the maximum time away we can do. We will be staying in a Penthouse Suite. After having our previous booking cancelled due to covid, we are really exciting and hoping this one goes as planned. The question I have is this. What order is the advance specialty restaurants when it comes to online priority? How many days in advance does a Penthouse suite have compared to say the Splendor or Grand Suites above it? Is there any advance priority for the Penthouse Suites over the suites below it? Lastly, is there any advice you all can give as to any strategies with the specialty restaurants and how to plan for them. Thanks all, I appreciate the advice!
  9. I do agree with you and testing should be a thing of the past. However, not to downplay all of this, but after 3 years and with everyone vaccinated on a ship, the most likely outcome would be someone who is asymptomatic who passes it on to another person would also continue to be asymptomatic.
  10. I will not chance it by flying anywhere out of the US. I don't play the lottery, gamble, or any other game of chance, and I'm sure not going to play a game of chance flying into or out of another country until all these pre and post covid regulations are a thing of the past. My risk tolerance is not that high. I'm already very leery that I just booked my first cruise (Regent Seven Seas) since this whole pandemic for March 2023 out of Miami. We are going to spend a few days in Miami first and I'm not looking forward to finding a drug store or sitting in a hotel room in front of a camera and poking my brains out with a swab in front of a camera and hoping that I don't show positive even though fully vaccinated, boosted, and recovered from covid after being jabbed 3 times.
  11. I'm currently booked on the Splendor, March 11th, 2023 for 10 nights in the Caribbean staying in a Concierge Suite 1022 (D). I'm thinking of upgrading to a Penthouse Suite (A). The only thing available is 1202 and a few on deck 14. This will be our first cruise with Regent. I'm curious as to any thoughts of the top deck 14 and these suites. Thanks all.
  12. I really don't get all caught up whether someone is wearing jeans, shorts, tee, sweat pants, tux, suit, evening gown or a dress. I really don't care. But where do we draw the line with the phrase, "I'm on vacation I'll dress and look how I want." How about letting guys come into the restaurant with wearing nothing but a sock over their junk like the Red Hot Chili Peppers once did? Or how about letting women come in wearing pasties and a thong? (Or guys for that matter) There has to be a line drawn somewhere. I guess you are darned if you do and darned if you don't.
  13. Why not ask a TA what incentives they offer. No offense here, but why should you ask a car dealer to sell a car for less than MSRP? Different occupations but same idea. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm willing to bet you have negotiated the price of a car. Both are commissioned and rebates or lowering the price has an affect on their pay.
