  1. Erase this post! Immediately! LOL!! Yup, looks like the cruise fairies gave you a gift. Enjoy!
  2. I think I've seen folks posting pictures of new menus with some verbiage about extra charges for lobster tails. 😢 We're on your sailing March 17th! Nice to see fellow traveler on the boards!
  3. I just came here to see if others noticed that as well. I try to buy several each month. Bought my share for July and just came back for August and they have lost some of their value. 😢 What's up with that?? It's one of the few things I actually use my AARP for. Any explanations offered?
  4. We just got off the Sky 12/27 after a 10 day cruise. The food in the MDR was delicious, the IC was amazing as always, Alfredos continues to serve the best pizza at sea, and the buffet was fine. I've never left the buffet feeling like I ate the best meal I've ever had so my expectations are low for that venue. I also think that these issues are ship specific. Some are reporting wonderful experiences and other ships' offerings seem to be less stellar. If you're in the US like me, you may have noticed that the variety and brands of food in the grocery store is not as readily available as it was 2 years ago and the costs have risen. I think the chef is doing a great job with the reduced ingredients available and trying to contain costs. I think those of us who love cruising are going to have to moderate our expectations for a while until the industry is fully back. It's like loving your team through the lean years. They will come back champions soon.
  5. Just ended a 10 day on the Sky this week and the step is about the same as a step on a stair case but there aren't any rails like a staircase. I steady myself on the sink coming in and the door frame going out. I don't have any mobility issues but I'm a klutz! LOL!! We had our first mini suite this time and the bathtub was VERY high in my opinion. I had to really swing my leg up and over. I'm short (5') so that might have contributed to this issue. So be aware of this issue if you're considering a bathtub option.
  6. Of course, I do feel badly for these folks because it's a huge disappointment and financial hardship. But c'mon! If you'e a "loyal patron" of Princess with 7 previous cruises then you should know a passport is required. Even when we do a closed loop we bring our passports for "worse case scenarios" such as one of us getting sick or missing the ship or worse. An expensive and sad lesson learned.
  7. @milolii whoops...sorry. I forgot. Is it ok to advise people to use their PVP to help them with things like this?
  8. I ordered 3 to pay off my balance and then just emailed them to my PVP. She did everything for me and sent me a note with the exact amount left over on the one card. If you have a PVP, use them to help you. If not, I'm happy to pass along my PV's contact info. She's amazing!
  9. Awesome! we just won a bid to a club class mini suite. I'm going to buy the cards tonight and pay for the bid that way! Win win win!! You are amazing. Thanks so much!
  10. Thank you! the link was just what I needed. And just to clarify, Princess will accept multiple gift cards for payment?
  11. Well, shoot. I went back and looked at every other offer, and I didn't see the Princess cards. Bummer. 🥲
  12. Hi bjkTX: So I finally have a little to investigate your AARP tip. It was not easy to find! LOL!! There's tons of offers. It's a real treasure trove. But here's my question. I found one for Carnival but not one specifically for Princess. Are these the ones you were talking about? Or is there one that specifically says "Princess"? Thanks so much for your help!
  13. Wow! This is an excellent tip! Thank you so much!
  14. Oh what heartbreaking news. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope happy memories bring you comfort at this sad time.
  15. Ok that's very good to know! Thank you so much! Y'all are awesome. I had no idea I'd learn about electrical engineering while planning my cruise. LOL!!!
  16. Hello Cruisers: I'm getting conflicting information and I thought I'd turn to the pros. My past Princess cruise ships all used US outlets. I brought a non-surge power strip and we were good to go. On another forum, I read the outlets on Sky are European? Then someone else said there's one of each? (US/European) So, anyone on Sky recently with the real 411? And, if there's both US and European plugs, if I buy an adaptor will I double my outlets? Thanks!
  17. Hello Princess Adventurers: I read on a few boards people were unhappy with the motion sensor lights that had been installed on the nightstand and in hallway so you have a light if you get up at night. The general consensus was that most folks didn't like them. I was reading that they are not on all ships and that they may have been removed on some? We're traveling on Sky Princess in December and I'm wondering can any recent Sky passengers confirm if these lights are in the Sky staterooms? Thanks!
  18. I'm crossing my fingers that you made it!! Thanks to everyone for your helpful information and insights into EZ Air. Traveling these days, and especially at Christmas, is just going to be a "hope for the best, plan for the worst" situation, I think.
  19. Oh no! I'm crossing my fingers too that you make it to the port on time! 🤞🤞 Do you use EZ Air regularly or did you decide to use it because of how difficult travel is these days?
  20. Hello Princess Cruisers: Just booked a Christmas cruise (Southern Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale) on the Sky Princess and for the first time we're considering EZ Air. We always fly Delta and there's not a huge price difference so that's not an issue. We also always get travel insurance just be be safe. We're pretty laid back travelers....things happen and you roll with it. We just assume something is going to go wrong so we try to take as many precautions as possible like always arriving a day early to the port city. We live in the upper midwest so driving to a port is not a reasonable option for us. Obviously, anyone crazy enough (🤣) to travel these days has to expect problems: cancelled flights, delays, slow response times for customer service, etc. That's why we're considering EZ Air because if, despite our best efforts, we still miss the ship their promo says, "the reassurance that we'll get you to the ship." So given the state of air travel today..... What's been your experience...especially in the last year or so? Will they really get you to your ship if you have flight issues beyond your control? Has anyone had a Princess EZ Air fail? What happened? Ultimately, do you really get the peace of mind you're promised when you chose EZ Air? Thanks so much for your insights. Much appreciated!
