  1. Well first of all I love comedy, especially adult or late night comedy. On MSC there was no comedy at all. On NCL there were 2 comedians who rotated, one show a night I believe. My last Carnival cruise there were numerous comedians, I lost track of how many because there was comedy basically all day long with both family type and adult type. I only went to adult twice a night every night. On NCL I would rate both comedians a 2 out of a score of 1-10. I think one of them got a chuckle or two out of me but that was it. The second night after watching several people walk out we did also never to return. Their shows would have been suitable for small children it was so boring. All they did was throw in a few bad words to try to be funny. On Carnival I would rate almost every comedian I have seen on numerous cruises either a 9 or a 10, haven't seen a dud yet. From start to finish I am laughing as is everyone else. The one time I saw people leave was because the comedian touched on numerous subjects that certain people found too offensive. I did not. If you have been to Carnivals adult comedy I would assume you got into a very long line early to try and get a seat. You might have noticed that even after all the seats are filled people will still come in and stand to watch. On NCL comedy was in a small venue on very hard wooden chairs all lined up in a row. No one lined up and as the show was starting there were still empty seats. On Carnival the venue is big but not ever big enough and the seating is plush and comfortable, with servers going around taking drink orders. On NCL everyone lines up in a long line at an understaffed bar to get a drink. Hope this answers your question😁
  2. I love Carnival but then again after sailing NCL and MSC I loved them also lol. Only been on one NCL cruise but have two more booked the this year and cant wait! To me food is better presented and tastes better in the MDR and the buffet on Norwegian. To me production shows and entertainment is about equal with a slight edge going to Carnival, except comedy. No one does comedy like Carnival! To me Carnivals Serenity adult only area is much nicer than Spice H20. To me Carnival has a better variety of free food options especially on their newest ships. To me service seems a bit better and faster on Norwegian. Fellow passengers on Norwegian seemed quieter and better mannered on Norwegian but friendlier on Carnival. Never seen any bad behavior on any cruise I have been on and Carnival cruises are the most fun with memorable cruise directors. I think you will be pleasantly surprised that Carnivals bad reputation is a bit exaggerated😁
  3. There are similar drinks with a bubble on Celebration and Jubilee so only on excel class ships.
  4. Well after seeing a few people post last week about not being able to use 2 rewards per cabin any longer I'm going to have to believe it's true booooo. I'm happy I got 3 bookings using the $750 reward for me and husband, two of them upcoming for this year. Will have to figure something out for next year, maybe back to Carnival. Seems they miss me since I have some good offers lol.
  5. If food, drinks, and entertainment are important to you then the Celebration. I loved that ship, so many really good extra free food options and the plus the pay options other ships don't have. It was great having unique and new bars and not having to rely on just crowded Alchemy for special drinks. Entertainment was amazing, not your usual loud music and dance numbers.
  6. YAY just in time. I'm going to bed, sorry you won't be for a good while yet but safe travels🤞🤞
  7. I'm with you but don't count on my JuJu, I have to save that for the casino so I can take extra cruises not in the budget. But I'm there in spirit 😁
  8. Oh no, and now this too. And here I really was rooting for you that as of this morning it seemed liked a easy breezy no misfortune kind of day☹️
  9. This brings back memories. Last year had a 6pm flight day before a cruise, last flight of the day and got the dreaded Delayed text just as we stepped out of the Uber at the airport. Then another, and another, and another. No communication from gate agents. By 9 pm I didn't know if I should protectively book something early for the next morning or what. Went up to ask the gate agents advice and she told me the plane got held up because of a tornado but was on it's way. Sigh of relief, the plane is coming. Finally around 11pm plane arrives and people get off. And we wait, and wait, and wait wondering why aren't we boarding. Finally they announce the pilots have timed out and can't fly the plane. Panic sets in. Then they announce another plane is landing that has pilots that can fly our plane, just another short wait and we will be off. We didn't get to Miami until after 3 in the morning but we made it. I was really surprised it wasn't cancelled.
  10. Ah the wretched rope course. I about killed myself trying to complete it. Take a course where the ropes are old and droopy not nice and tight, an old lady that is scared of heights and it wasn't pretty. But, but I completed it! The bad thing was I had sustained another small injury first day so I had to walk around the ship all bruised and scraped up. People prob thought my husband was a monster☹️
  11. This would be a great option for me. Luckily the late flight wouldn't be a problem because the next day is a holiday, no work. Love learning something new, thank you!
  12. Now that was the debarkation I dream of! So you rented a hotel for the day, is it a set fee or based on how long you will be using it for? I have heard of this but haven't looked into it yet. I would considering doing this if available in Seattle after my cruise. I have the choice of flights leaving a little earlier than I would like at 11 am and one leaving very late at 11pm. I wouldn't mind doing the late one and having time to visit a few touristy spots and then relax in a room before my flight. My other option is a great time 1pm flight but flying into Austin which means bothering someone to come pick us up. I have the earlier flight booked but that can be changed no penalty, decisions, decisions.
  13. The Breeze will have an amazing thermal suite area compared to the Jubilee. It will have the famous thelassotherapy pool and the heated loungers in separate rooms not all crammed into one tiny loud space. Other special rooms and special showers also spaced out nicely. I thought when I booked Celebration since it was a new ship it would have the extra nice thermal suite area like I had on the Dream so I booked a spa cabin to have free access. Was I ever surprised and totally underwhelmed when I saw the thermal suite area, we only used it twice. On the Dream we purchased the week long passes and used it at least twice a day.
  14. I don't know what it's based on but it's always been $25 pp for me. We each get 2 free a year with the CC but that's only one trip. Have considered buying only one but I would crack under the pressure if trying to save a seat and husband is a wild card, there would be the potential of us getting kicked off the plane if he was trying to save a seat and it went south🤔
  15. HaHaHa funniest thing I have read in a long time, give yourself 100 Sid points👏
  16. If not free I saw I can purchase one day of Internet for less than $20 which is a lot less than $50. It's problematic to not have an assigned seat on Southwest ughhhh.
  17. As usual I'm probably the last to know lol. I will look into it, thanks.
  18. I like on NCL I can save enough of my FAS WiFi minutes to do Southwest check in. On Carnival I have no Wi-Fi so have to pay $50 for us to get early bird check in.
  19. I'm a lightweight and like drinks that don't taste like alcohol so a sexy glass helps get me through the ordeal😂🤣
  20. Ok I'm slow on the take. I did notice lots of pic of drinks in plastic cups, which I don't prefer. But now I think I get it, order outside get a plastic cup, order inside get a glass. Please tell me this is so. I don't want to get schooled like martini lady haha.
  21. Great to see a favorable review on the Jade. I needed an August cruise and the only 7 day that wasn't Alaska or Canada was on the Jade. I too was concerned about being on an older and smaller ship. I'm feeling good about and excited for this cruise after seeing a few positive smaller ship reviews lately. We love Asian food so will prob eat there a few times. Not a fan of game shows as entertainment so hope we have decent entertainment on our cruise. Hope your wife continues to recover and become more mobile.
  22. When I sailed NCL I don't think I was aware you could get 2 drinks at a time. Certainly no one ever poured me 2🧐. I'm May I'm getting my 2 drinks at a time. Yes I can barely finish 1 but it's the principle of the matter lol.
  23. We woke up to pouring rain this morning, now it's hot, humid and sunny. I have no rum ☹️
  24. I'm up too early this morning booo. I know I was at Freeport once but couldn't remember anything about it until I went back and looked at some old pics. We did a beach, kayak, snorkel excursion but it was so windy it just turned into a beach day. Beach was very primitive I think we got the only shade spot under the only trees lol. No wonder I didn't remember. But I do remember the next port was HMC and that made up for it! Enjoy your day just chillin😎
  25. Loved the Seashore. They had infinity hot tubs that were on max bubble, just like being in the Thelassotherapy pool
