  1. Thank you! Anyone know about the Captain?
  2. Cruising on Equinox to the Southern Caribbean 03/04 through 03/14. Anyone know who the Captain and Cruise Director will be? I may be wrong but I doubt they will be making a change before that date. I am hoping that someone that has been on Equinox in February could respond. TIA!
  3. I spent 90 minutes on the phone with Celebrity. You can use the birth certificate, drivers license and marriage certificate to prove your identity. However Martinique requires a passport and Celebrity will not "transport" my sisters without a passport. The end loop criteria is 1 requirement but the individual countries determine their acceptance criteria. In short a passport IS required for this cruise.
  4. My sister in law does not have a passport. On our last Celebrity cruise she used her d/l and marriage certificate instead of a passport. When she tried to check in for our March 2024 cruise, the only option that shows up in the mobile app or on the web is a passport. How does she enter the document details? Do we need to call Celebrity?

    Hotel Bakoua

Thank you for the details. We are definitely heading to Trois Islet!

    Hotel Bakoua

Our cruise is in March so we have not visited yet.
  7. We also drive from NC to Fort Lauderdale for cruises. We stop at Kingsland, GA as well. It just about halfway, has any hotel bran you can think of and many restaurants. Our next cruise is March 2024 and we will be stopping in Kingsland again. Pooler does have a very interesting Air Force museum. My father in law served in the Army Air Core during WW2 before it became the Air Force and that museum was worth the visit.
  8. I recently called and the automated system provided the option for a call back. It predicted a 50 minute wait time. I chose the callback option and received a call almost exactly 50 minutes later. I manage call center technology as part of my job and was impressed that the timing was accurate and I actually did get a call. The agent was courteous and professional, had my general information and quickly resolved my questions and issue. This was a great example of how customer service should work. Kudos to Celebrity!
  9. Bingo question about Equinox. I have seen recent posts about the Summit and Reflection which state that Bingo was offered in addition to Deal or No Deal. Did you see this on the Equinox?
  10. Please let us know how it went at the Boatyard when you get home. Our cruise stops there in March.

    Hotel Bakoua

Has anyone taken the ferry over to Hotel Bakoua recently? How often does it run? Are you able to access the beach and shade at the hotel? Are there day passes or other fees? Looking for any and all details, TIA.
  12. Contact special_needs@rccl.com and notify them you will need Distilled water and an extension cord for your partners Cpap machine. They will note it and send a form for you to complete and email back. Your room attendant will be notified and should take care of everything for you. I have done this multiple times without any issues.
  13. This potential change is radically different in nature from reductions and cost changes since it can and will impact some people's health. I sent off my email and emphasized the risk of alienating existing customers to gain ancillary revenue in the Casino. One of the highest cost to a business is customer acquisition. It's much more expensive to obtain new customers than retain your existing customer base. Hopefully the seemingly overwhelming negative opinion being voiced by Celebrity customers will not be ignored.
  14. We were on the Equinox from May 4th thru the 13th. There were plenty of penny slots in the Casino and lots of people playing them.
  15. I wanted to provide some details about the way the Equinox medical team handled an issue on the May 4th cruise to the Southern Caribbean. At around 1030pm on the May 12th (last night of the cruise), there was a shipwide announcement that a passenger needed an emergency blood transfusion. They needed a male with either A positive or O negative blood. Many passengers and crew immediately gathered at the guest relations area to volunteer. I have O negative blood and was in the volunteer group. A number of people were turned away since they had been drinking but 5 of us went down to medical. They took us back one by one after taking some basic information from us. They then drew blood to test it for the best match with the passenger. I ended up being chosen. I was extremely impressed with the nurses and the Dr. They were professional, efficient, and acted with a sense of urgency in order to get the transfusion done quickly. I have never had any previous experience with the medical team on any cruise. The level of care for me after I gave blood was excellent. I would trust this group with my own care or my family's care if it was needed. While it wasn't how I had planned to spend our last night at sea, it did give me a chance to see the medical team in action and allow me the chance to help someone in need. I hope Celebrity rewards that group for their efforts on May 12th.
  16. We were just on the Celebrity Equinox. My SIL booked at the very last minute and wanted to dine with us each night. It took 2 days and an impassioned discussion with a maitre d. However it was finally accomplished. It was difficult to understand since my DW and I and my SIL are all from the US and paid in USD.
  17. My wife made her own tea by getting hot water from the Oceanview cafe in 2 yetis and then adding earl grey tea bags. You can get hot water and tea bags 24 hrs per day.
  18. Head to your hotel. See if they will let you check in early, some will. If not see if they will hold your bags and go out for a nice breakfast, come back and sit by the pool until your room is ready.
  19. Worked fine on Chrome on my Android phone just now.
  20. We will be on the same 9 day cruise on Equinox in early May. Any recommendations on staff; Favorite bartender, wait staff, etc? TIA
  21. We have cruised on Carnival, RCL, and Celebrity. My quick summary of the 3 lines: Carnival is if budget is a concern and you like nightlife beyond 1100pm RCL if you have a family or like the variety of physical activities most ships offer. Celebrity is like the last meal Goldilocks ate, just right. Good food and service but a bit more laid back lifestyle.
  22. You will be at the mercy of the hotel shuttle schedule and sharing it with others. It may not go straight to your ship. Uber/Lyft/Taxi will be at your schedule. Keep that in mind when you compare prices.
  23. We were on the Equinox last March and they opened the divider to my SILs cabin next to us. No pushback at all
