  2. It really depends on what kind of issues you have. If you wanna switch/cancel/book cruise/room/excursion, they would be able to help you. 

     

    Anything account related, promotion related, price related, website glitch checkin issues, you will have an uphill battle to fight with the US customer service. Seems like anything that requires the Main office from Genoa is lost in translation.

    So much for the HR reward.

     

    I have 10% applied, and the discount dropped after I updated passenger information.

     

    Called them and they said there are hundreds of bookings like this and the booking would need to be manually adjusted.

    She said it could take two weeks as my booking is in Dec.

     

    If I don't get it fixed by 4/21, I would need to cancel and rebook with coupons.

  4. I used to use UK's 3 plan and Orange Mundo sim card for traveling in Europe. Mundo starts charging maintenance fee so I stopped using it. I still keep UK's 3 sim card. You can top up when you need to use it. Buy add-on when you need to use it. 5GB for £15 is what I usually get. Most of the time I am only getting 3G speed.

     

    Now I just use Google Fi, $20/line + $10/GB data. I get full LTE speed and cap at $60 Max per month. I don't need to worry about overcharge and I can pause the plan when I come back to the States.

  5. So I made 3 bookings with 10%. I went to the website to do the web check-in to fill in passport information.

     

    Bang, all 3 bookings got repriced and the balance due went up with 10% dropped.

     

    Dealing with MSC is nothing but frustration. Called the CSR and they said there are hundreds of bookings like this, and they will need to ask the Main Office to reapply the code but it would take some time since my booking is months away.

     

    Worst case I would just cancel and rebook again and hope that they don't pull this stunt after final payment.

  6. I had a beg bug issue with an AirB&B in Santorini ($250/nt room.) I and my wife both were bitten and immediately showed big sores with itchiness.  

    I found a couple live one and took pictures to report to AirB&B. 

     

    Couldn't sleep at all and have to move at 3 am. Tried washing and drying all the clothes, but still manage to have a couple got into our house. Took me a month to eventually kill all of them with Diatomaceous Earth.

     

    Now I avoid putting or opening suitcase on the carpet of the hotel floor.

  7. I don't automatically tip tour guides or drivers that bring me from point a to point b. That is included in the excursion. Unless I know they make close to nothing, then I may give them a few bucks.

     

    I usually only tip when they show exceptional knowledge or go an extra mile in helping me.

    I think the consensus is that MSC YC is comparable to Haven, but generally, NCL has a better product. MSC is less known in the US and they don't have that many offerings here. There aren't that many US members on the MSC board.

    I don't think I paid any fee. The balcony price was cheaper than my interior + bidding to upgrade to oceanview. I guess I would need to pay a higher DSC if I upgrade to a suite.
