  1. Sometimes I felt guilty that we could only have one child as Linda almost died after giving birth and the doctor said we shouldn’t risk another pregnancy but Jonathan seems fine with being an only child. He does get spoiled but he tends to spoil us too. He is a very loving kid. Thanks for your comments. My mom was an only child too. Thank you for this info. Looking forward to becoming a Diamond after our next two cruises. Thanks to Royal’s double points promotion we will have achieved Diamond after only 5 cruises. Thank you. We are proud of him. He’s a good kid. Lived seeing your pics. Reminded me of our wonderful cruise to the Greek Isle’s for our honeymoon. Santorini was my favorite followed by Mykonos and Rhodes. So glad you had a great trip.
  2. Costco says you can return anything anytime for a full refund. Hmmmm you got me thinking…😉 Most of it is because they age some of the grapes for a hundred years. The Bacarat crystal decanter adds expense to it also. I must say it was the smoothest best cognac I’ve ever had. Thinking of doing Sea Dog’s Old Fashioned first.
  3. That is such awesome news! So glad Owen does not have to have surgery. That will make recovery so much faster as you know. Give him my best wishes!
  4. It’s been a very sad for me but I won’t discuss politics. What I will discuss is my son doing a belated Father’s Day with me. First we went had sushi together at one of our favorite spots. Boy it’s nice when your son picks up the tab. Then we went to a nearby craft cocktail bar and tasted some interesting cocktails. Sorry there are no pics. After we got home he presented me with several gifts. The first being a do your own whiskey kit. Here you can take a basic bourbon and add different flavors and age the spirits in a bottle for several weeks. Some of the flavors that you can infuse are dark chocolate, vanilla, orange peel, and birds eye chili to create a flavor infused bourbon. This should be fun. Next a cocktail smoker. and finally a book that we really need. All in all I could not be prouder of my son and who he has become. It made my sad depressing day a little brighter.
  5. I remember seeing Louie in Sam’s Club for $1200 20 years ago and teasing my wife about buying a bottle. Wish I had now. I did buy a glass aboard Explorer as my retirement gift at $250 a glass. It was incredible. Here was my little video of the experience. Cheers buddy!
  6. Oh no thats horrible. Here’s what I don’t understand how can there be a shortage of bourbon when it’s an American made product. I did not hear of any shut downs in the distilleries in Kentucky during COVID. Somebody please enlighten me?
  7. Let's get this party started. Hope you are on board soon. Have a Kraken Colada for me!
  8. Next time you are at the doctors ask them what grade they would give your arthritis. Mine was grade 4 which is the most severe. Sounds like you could be grade 3. Here is some info on the grades. https://www.ibji.com/blog/orthopedic-care/arthritis-in-knee-4-stages-of-osteoarthritis/
  9. Great news Graham. What will be interesting is to see how long the steroid injection will last giving you comfort. Most of mine have lasted anywhere from 3-6 months. From your previous comments about the doctor saying you have moderate arthritis you should hopefully be able to as they say kick the can down the road. Unfortunately and eventually the cartilage will deteriorate more with age and activity setting up a possible knee replacement. Don't be afraid to go that route. Even though I'm still in the healing stage it has made a huge difference. I am now exercising an hour and a half per day where as before I couldn't do anything. I've dropped 35 pounds and feel better. Also one more point they told me exercise is important. Keeping those muscles around the joint strong can help support the knee cap and make less wear and tear. Good luck to you my friend I'm rooting for you. Cheers! Sue so glad you had a great cruise. I am a big Captain Kate fan and hope some day to sail with her. I know Celebrity honors Royal C&A is Elite equal to Diamond? I feel the same way. As soon as Linda and I reach Diamond (After our next two cruises) we would like to book a few cruises on Celebrity.
  10. That makes a lot of sense and now has me wondering if we should adjust. The problem with my current schedule is that we wouldn't see a show till 10:30. We may be food coma by then and ready for bed.
  11. @BennyBrun So are you doing the UDP on this cruise? I forgot to ask over on Symphony what time did you make most of your reservations for?
  12. Hey Below Deck Med fans. The new season 7 starts on July 11th and features a new yacht for Captain Sandy. If you are interested in getting a peak here is a good article. She looks like a real beauty. https://www.boatinternational.com/yachts/news/home-yacht-below-deck-mediterranean-season-7?fbclid=IwAR0nj4p3MfUA-o_SuV4LOHzX7eERsFbryul_4xZSdqY1LtwKSOcr--4zC4Y
  13. Just started watching the new FX series "The Old Man" with Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow. Boy this is really going to be good. At 72 years young who recently recovered from cancer and COVID he is an ultimate bad ass. The physical acting in some of the first episode fight scenes was incredible. Give it a watch.
  14. I'll be following along Benny! Thanks I always enjoy your reviews. I will be interested in if there are any liquor shortages. I love my cocktails and have heard bourbon was hard to find in some of the bars on other ships.
  15. That's awesome. I hope we can hook up. You will be able to find me easily wearing my Sea Dog T-shirts or my polo's with the logo on the front. I love to hang out at the Schooner Bar. I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I'm hoping that the new 14 Pro Max will come out before we sail and I can upgrade. Rumor has it that it will include a 48MP Camera which would be a game changer. If it does not come out in time I'll bring my Nikon D80 with my wide lens for food porn. I was so concerned about getting on board early enough to make reservations that I ended up purchasing the "Key" just so we could board right after the suite people. Paid a little more but I do like expedited departure and we were going to get the internet package anyway. Embarkation lunch at Chops will be a wash as we will have the UDP. Same here when I was on Explorer for my Semi Live review this past November it was practically impossible to upload things. Good advise. I love to eat as I'm a foodie but I don't know how much I will do this as I do get full but I sure want the option. Love the idea of a Izumi snack! We are putting dinner ahead of all our evening shows. I like 90 minutes as a good rule of thumb for dinner. I don't like to be rushed. Heck I'm slower than most because I'm constantly taking pictures of the food. Any recommendation as to which restaurant and maitre d stand would be the best to make all my reservations. On Harmony two years ago they had a table in the terminal where I could make all my reservations before boarding. I don't know if they will have that or not. Looking forward to meeting and talking with you! Cheers, Greg (Sea Dog)
  16. Sorry that was probably my fault as I hit multiquote and then changed tabs. That's why your quote ended up in the other thread (too many tabs open) so thanks for the link. I did it and it says I'm 2 years younger than I actually am. 64 years old compared to my age of 66. Thank you Mark.
