  1. I certainly beg to differ! Having a dental hygiene appointment is absolutely not comparable to a pedicure. A pedicure is a medical procedure??? NOOOOO๐Ÿคฃ
  2. I do not understand what you are trying to say? I am sorry, I was just trying to voice my thought that there is too much personal info gathering by the company that runs the spa on the ships. Happy and Safe travels to you Ex-Airbalancer.
  3. Thank you for your replies. I understand the concierge making our reservations in advance. The cruise we are on is quite port intensive with long days and depending how we are feeling after we return from our adventures.....are we able to dine in specialty restaurants without a reservation? Do they hold a few tables for upper level suite guests? Thanks again, Pam
  4. Thanks, RichYak. We did have that service on our last cruise (before COVID) as we were in a RS. However, do we have to reserve ahead of time, or can we "last minute" our dining while onboard? Thanks๐Ÿ™‚
  5. Good evening ๐Ÿ™‚We will be onboard the Solstice in February for a cruise through Asia. We never eat at buffets as we prefer to be seated and served. We will enjoy dining at Luminae for most of our meals. However, we are hoping to dine at some specialty restaurants while onboard. So my question is, do we have to make reservations ahead of our cruise or do they hold some tables to accommodate suite guests while onboard? We are 44 days out and I am trying to semi-plan our itinerary. Thanks, Pam
  6. OMG! I am a retired dentist and agree with Georgia_Peaches! There is absolutely NO WAY an esthetician who does mani/pedis needs comprehensive health info. I am quite sure they might not know how to process. Perhaps a client may mention that they have compromised circulation due to diabetes and that might be an alert if the esthetician is aware. There is no need to fill in this info to personnel that do not understand the intricacies of health care. This is an info gathering that should NOT be happening. Excuse me, what is the training involved as an esthetician? No slight to the estheticians, but the company that they work for that are requiring this info. Wow! Full stop.
  7. ๐Ÿ˜€Sorry! Long Title! LOL. We have decided to do a private tour and reserve our own hotel in Hanoi (Old Quarter) for an overnight stay. I believe that the one way trip from port to Hanoi can be 2.5- 3 hours. We really want to have a full day of exploration (history and food) while we are there with private guides that I will organize. Our plans are to have a full day of discovery after arrival on Day 1 and extend into the evening. The next morning we plan on having a massage, leisurely breakfast and leaving Hanoi for transportation to the ship by 10AM (Solstice departs at 2PM.) If anyone has any advice if this is doable and also names of reputable drivers or transport companies, I would very much appreciate. Thanks. Happy and Safe Travels, :)Pam
  8. I am trying to remember........do upper level suites pay ala carte? Our son will be joining us on our next cruise and he inhales sushi ๐Ÿ˜‹ Wanting to know his pricing options!๐Ÿ™ƒ
  9. Hi again Mahdnc! My DH and DS (28) and myself are very interested in this private 2 day tour to Bangkok. I am also Bonvoy Platinum Elite and we enjoy the club floor and service from this group of properties. We have been hit and miss with the butler service at some of the St. Regis hotels, notably the Gritti Palace and Bora Bora. Oh well, the location made up for the absence of stellar service. If you are happy with your private tour company, would you please be kind enough to PM me any details if you are ok to share. Thank you for your great review......I am so excited to follow along. :)Pam
  10. Thank you for your ongoing review. We will be onboard the Solstice out of Hong Kong to Singapore in February. We are also staying at the JW Marriott hotels during our stay. I am very interested in your experiences and advice that we can take forward onto our cruise! Happy and Safe travels, :)Pam
  11. 800-437-3111 Phoned again and pressed prompt that said "new booking." I guess Celebrity has our biz this time. However, I will checking luxury lines going forward. Pam
  12. 800-437-3111 20- 30 mins this morn 844.418.6824 20-25 min this morn. On hold ๐Ÿ˜ž I guess they really do not want my $! And yes, I am aware that I can pay online, however, there is a change in address and CC on file that I need to speak to Celebrity about prior to payment. And yes, I usually transfer the rez to a TA for ease and extra OBC or savings. I missed the 30 day deadline to transfer the rez. My bad.
  13. I left a callback number as was advised. I have not heard back. Very disappointed in Celebrity for our first cruise since the start of the pandemic. Fortunately we have choices. Celebrity may not be our suite spot going forward or the that matter this Asian cruise on Solstice in a Royal Suite.
  14. Good morn ๐Ÿ™‚ I made a direct reservation with Celebrity online which includes cruise and air. I have been trying to reach someone regarding questions with AMEX cruise perks and making a final payment. I need to speak with someone. Is there a special number for Suite guests? I am very frustrated. Pam
  15. Bonjour CalDreamers! I just reserved this cruise for DH and I! We are from Alberta, Canada. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have been on an extensive tour of Quebec City with my son's Gr 9 French Class. I was an organizer with the teacher.......and even I as a Canadian learned soooo much about our history! You will love Quebec City with its charm, lovely stores, food (and not just poutine!) You will not be disappointed! My DH has not traveled there, so I am looking forward to enjoying this wonderful French Canadian city with him! This is the best itinerary IMHO of all the ships sailing during the Fall. BonVoyage! Happy and safe travels! Pam
  16. I am totally enjoying your review! Thank you for sharing. However, I think Mexican boat tours vs. Hawaiian boat tours are getting too close to the whales. Sure..... it does make for great pictures but? https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/03/11/whale-kills-tourist/70184294/
  17. FYI... I have been on the Equinox in 2011 or 2012 out of the Med. We reserved a Royal Suite. I believe this was on the of the first ships in this line. One of our complaints is that it was directly underneath the pool deck and other noisy areas. Also at this time, Celebrity did not offer many additional perks (Specialty dining included, drink pkgs, etc.) I was very disappointed and moved on to RC in their top end suites where I felt more indulged! Fast forward to Feb 2020 and my DH and I reserved a RS on the Reflection. Smart Celebrity may have perhaps read my review on the very bad placement of their top level suites right below the pool deck when they added more ships to the class. Reflection royal suites were relocated on at least 2 decks below pool (aka Noisy area.) Loved the upgrades and everything else that had been elevated in the last decade. I would absolutely reserve again with Celebrity but probably not on the newer E-class ships. Okay, I will say it, I am not ready to reserve on any ship until world health settles down. Happy and Safe Travels. :)Pam
