  1. Yes..,I am now a dedicated RC cruisers after 40 cruises on various cruise lines. We are nearly Diamond plus but I don’t think I can manage 5 drinks a day🤮 I just wish they had longer cruises in Europe. A lot of the cruises are the same so B2B it not easy. at Christmas we are doing Celebrity but I wanted to see how the Edge was. i wonder how long RC can offer the best perks. Although if they drop the perks they will lose customers. Enjoy cruising everybody. eileen
  2. Good luck..,a free cruise is lovely. I will be interested to hear how these cruises go ..,they are looking to get younger cruisers but I am sure any cruise is interesting. Eileen
  3. I only booked a junior suite because when the cruise first came up there was no balconies available. I could have cancelled and rebooked a balcony but the cost at that time was not much more! I assume the cruise around Ok will be pretty well booked.
  4. It’s on the velocity website! You can get it there. Eilee
  5. You are cruel..,ha ha i like some of the main courses. still as we are diamond I am happy with our 4 free drinks…and the diamond club coffee..,,on our last cruise we were talking to somebody on a B2B and their drinks package cost them $3600. go RC! Eileen
  6. Just had a look online. Pity I don’t have enough points. they must be having trouble filling the cruise?
  7. Hi advice please…we have booked a junior suite on Brillance of the Seas in February. what are the chances of getting into the Coastal Kitchen for dinner ? thanks Eileen
  8. Hi you will not believe this, my application for a credit card from ANZ has just been approved. WOW! yesterday I phoned to asked what was happening and spoke to a very nice woman. She said I needed to get a letter from the UK stating I get a pension from them. I phoned UK last night and they said they would send me one by snail mail. I said can’t you send it be email. No that’s against the rules, anyway I sent a message to ANZ saying it would take time. I think somebody at ANZ made an executive decision and I got my card. ofcourse I have to hope that ANZ stick with Allianz who are covering all,I want and now up to 81 as well and don’t change their insurer. when I get the card I can now cancel my crap Bankwest one! Hurrah. I also have my Coles credit card as well which I will keep. You need two incase you are overseas and a machine eats one up. Not that I use the machines while overseas, but just in case. A good day. Maybe if you need a card keep trying. Eileen
  9. That’s is one of the reasons I applied to ANZ . 81 gives us another 5 years..wow wow. Thanks for your information. our next cruise is not until Xmas..,seems along way away!
  10. Just had a look at NAB. Visa Debit card. Travel insurance not available after the age of 76! I am too old !
  11. Hi thanks for that information. My last conversation actually said that I would get one if I could get a letter from the UK stating that I get 60% of my husbands pension. I am going to ring the UK and see how things go. If it is refused I will have a look at the NAB debit card. It just gets you down as people like me always pay their debts and it gets to the stage of wanting to slap somebody. Not good I am too old for that🤪 eileen
  12. Hi sorry this is a moan. my present credit card insurance is with Bankwest and since Covid it gives you practically nothing. No cruise cover and no cancellations unless you upgrade it and on our last cruise that cost $800. so decided to try for an ANZ credit card, good information on CC. Applied and kept sending required documents and being asked for more and more info. I get two pensions each month plus my superannuation which I have to draw down. but they keep asking for more, I now need a statement from the UK regarding my pension, even though they can see on my bank statements for the last ten years that I receive one. My patience are waning. But it is worth it if they finally give me one. has anybody had the same issues! eileen
  13. I think Azamara is a nice option if you want a change. But small ships do not always have the entertainment like the large ships! But the food is definitely better. No need for speciality restaurants! Drinks included but I was surprised that several drinks we not included in the drinks. You had to buy the further upmarket package! I think this is an alteration from when RC owned the ship. we did Perth to Sydney for last Christmas. Everybody very friendly. but back on Celebrity this Christmas! Eileen
  14. Hi sorry I don’t know your name Aus Traveller but have enjoyed your reports. how long have you been home and where are you going on your next cruise. we have been home since August from our last cruise but it seems a long time till our Christmas cruise, seems really boring to be at home!! Regards Eileen
  15. Yes I booked with them but must be more than 6 or 7 years ago. Don’t know why you would be denied! just logged into their website and have a look. I assume you have read the previous CC mail and it is the same website. I have noticed that any Australia cruises are not any cheaper, the one I booked was from Singapore to India. Good luck.
  16. Hi i have also booked a cruise with Celebrity although it is not until early 2025! When our dollar was the same as the US dollar it was wonderful. although our dollar is terrible just now, I just checked and I found that the cost even at this stage is half the price than if I booked it in Oz. I also got $500 US OBC. I am hoping that our dollar improves by then! they also offered me Travel insurance, they must of thought I was mad because I wrote twice and asked given our ages and not being US citizens could I still have it at that price. Yes was the answer. I then asked is this only for cancellation prior to the cruise, no it is full travel insurance. I still have my credit card insurance but it does not have cancellation attached. we met a couple from South Africa on our last cruise and they said they always book with US TA even though their rate of exchange is worse than ours. Eileen
  17. We were on Wonder of the Seas last year on the Med. A very large ship. it was not full so there was plenty of room. We also did Azamara this year. we enjoyed Wonder and found no problems with it. We did not go to top levels so the were not bothered with the children’s activities. the difference was because of the size of the ship the entertainment was wonderful. They had entertainment on water pools that could be lowered or heightened. This meant the type of the show was something we had never seen before! Spectacular! Azamara with only 6 entertainers! Pretty ordinary! We still enjoyed the cruise. try before you give it a no no. The price just now is high but in the future it will come down, I am sure. we usually enjoy all types of ships but we do like good entertainment. Have just come back from Spectrum of the seas in Asia. Wonderful entertainment. 4000 passengers. Entertainment Australian Beatles. Theatre full, everybody sung every song! Wonderful dancers in their French cancan show. Eileen
  18. Any cruise around the UK in wonderful. Although we missed Shetland the last time because of the weather. At Dunrobin Castle it was a lovely 24 degrees, but by the time we got to Liverpool it was only 16. No rain though. I have enjoyed your reports and from the sound of it you had a wonderful time. Eileen
  19. Which cruise line was that? Was it in the country as the final port ?
  20. Thanks Chiliburn for the phone number. I have sent off the request to the email address and at least have had an acknowledgement . I will wait a few days to see what they say! I also rang RC sales but they said as it is a November cruise I would have to book and pay the full amount up front. Then wait 10 days to see if the request is accepted. No way. we have got lots of cruises booked but sitting in Melbourne in this horrible weather, having to think of what to cook for dinner and clean the house tomorrow made me think we need a cruise. Ha ha Eileen
  21. I redid the link and realise that it was an email address not a page. I will take Ozwoody’s advice and ring RC . Although I would like some written confirmation before I book. thanks for all the suggestions. CC is always the best place to get advice. eileen😇
  22. Thanks for that info. I will ring RC in Oz and see if they can assist.
  23. Unfortunately that page is no longer available! I think it was probably taken down during Covid and no other page has replaced it.
  24. Hi has anybody got information regarding leaving a cruise early. RC have a short cruise from Sydney to Adelaide and back to Sydney. We are from Melbourne and since this cruise stops for two days in Melbourne we would like to leave the cruise in Melbourne and not get to Sydney and then fly home. we expect to pay the full price and that’s ok with us. getting info on this is proving difficult. I have not booked as it depends if I can leave the cruise in Melbourne. I sent an email to RC and received a note that they have forwarded my request to the Sales department. No answer so far. prior to Covid you could complete a form on this request. That page has disappeared. since this cruise is only in Australian waters I cannot see that there would be border problems. any help would be appreciated. Eileen
