  1. Agreed.... I haven't read the whole thread but for the wife and I, our cruise days most consist of wake up, gym, breakfast, pool deck, eat and drink all day until dinner then maybe catch a show. For our style of cruising, I would hate to have to make reservations or get assigned a time at the fitness center. Beyond that, we really don't think my wife and I would need to be six feet apart when on the pool deck as some vlogs have discussed. In addition, there has been some discussion of reserving chairs on the pool deck....I really don't want to ha
  2. lol, feel free to replace with ANY disease, airborne or otherwise. Like I stated above, we get infections on my campus every year from infections from measles and mumps. Why no vaccine passport for those coming into the US from Mexico?
  3. My father in law who is a retired cop made an interesting point the other day... They want to ask you if you've been vaccined to enter sporting events, travel etc. But what if they started asking people if they had AIDS. Do we need to carry a card that says we don't have AIDS, or HepC? It's a slippery slope.
  4. Are you making the case for lockdowns? Because if so, you are amazingly wrong ....Locked-down California runs out of reasons for surprising surge - POLITICO California has had some of the toughest restrictions in the country to combat the coronavirus, from a complete ban on restaurant dining to travel quarantines and indoor gym closures. It hasn't been enough. America's most populous state has become one of the nation's worst epicenters for the disease, setting new records for cases, hospitalizations and deaths almost every day.
  5. Last week there was a thread on Carnival cruising from foreign ports and it went off the rails and was nuked but myself and another member from CA mentioned how amazing it was to watch the Long Beach terminal load the HUGE amount of supplies for even just a three or four day cruise. Hundreds of cases of beer, thousands of pounds of produce, meat etc. It will be interesting to see if food and drink selections would be scaled back when\if these foreign port cruises happen. I know here in San Diego, there was a couple cruise ships off the coast who would pop into port for supp
  6. You want to shuttle 1000 people from San Diego to Ensenada? lol What would be more realistic is Cabo or Puerto Vallarta. Both have large airports to support the flights from the US.
  7. I think it will be like when a flight is overbook....I predict people will be called and offered nice "packages" to rebook at a later date, i.e. free cruise or heavily discounted cruise at a later date.
  8. Be sure to book your reservations for the zoo! No walk ins! A number of museums at Balboa Park should be open as well.
  9. Heat wave here right now. Not sure when the last time you were here but at the waterfront nearest downtown you have a great playground at the SD County Administrative building and right across the street the demo'd the old Anthonys Fish Grotto and put in a super nice Miguels (mexican fare) and Brigantine Seafood. There is also a coffee shop and gelato shop. Be warned, downtown is a mess. TONS of homeless as the numbers are increasing as they've been recently kicked out of the convention center to make way for the migrant families. Lots of shops and restaurants are OOB.
  10. I would say 90% of the people will be wearing masks. The wife and I will walk the dogs at Shelter Island in Point Loma or go to Balboa Park and we don't wear masks because, well, they're stupid. No one has ever said anything to us. I am seeing more and more older folks not wearing masks either. And I mean over 60. You don't have to wear a mask if you are eating\drinking or exercising. Although some people do, some don't.
  11. I am happy for any update, no matter how small or insignificant.
  12. Well, you'll find burgers at most cruise buffets but after that, things get difficult. For instance, on NCL, you have 24 hour "pub" food. You can get some fish and chips, hot dogs, wings but I don't think burgers are on there. Often times you will have a "midnight" buffet. Options here will vary but you can generally get burgers at midnight buffets. I've had burgers at midnight buffets on both NCL and Carnival lines. Been a while since I was on a RCL or Celebrity so I am not sure on their offerings.
  13. I am pretty sure Royal Caribbean submitted their paperwork to the CDC months ago... Healthy Cruising Panel: Cruising Safely with Royal Caribbean The Healthy Sail Panel submitted its recommendations on September 21, 2020 to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in response to a CDC request for public comment that will be used to inform future public health guidance and preventative measures relating to travel on cruise ships. The Healthy Sail Panel’s 65-plus-page report includes 74 detailed best practices to protect the public health and safety of gu
