  1. Exactly this on the recent Xmas/ new year cruise.
  2. I can’t see where the poster Kohima was was asking which side of the road to cycle on.πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
  3. Also I don’t think that you hire them as I believe that they are free to use. you may have to book them. https://newsroom.saga.co.uk/news/saga-to-offer-guests-mate-x-e-bikes-to-explore-destinations
  4. On our recent Xmas trip there was always at least three bikes not being used at the gang plank. A couple that we met on board used the bikes at most ports and recommended them.
  5. We are just back from that trip, The onboard was Wi Fi system was Star link and in my experience it was poor, Ok for WhatsApp etc but no chance of downloading you tube or even Apple Music. Not really complaining as it was included in the price whereas other cruise lines would charge a fortune for the same poor service. We need to remember that any connections at sea are not going to be comparable to land but I was expecting more from Star link as it is a satellite connection.
  6. Hi PC. Hoping you and mrs PC are keeping well. Raise a glass with us tonight, and here’s wishing you both a happy healthy new year.
  7. If you or hubby do them at home and you find that the ships laundry service isn’t up to your standards there are onbord laundromats so you can do them yourself.πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Or take your butler.😘
  8. What date / time and departure airport is it ? If you do an online dummy booking usually the flight number shows on it.
  9. This is not having a pop at you but what were you expecting from TUI when you put in your official complaint..? From an outsider looking in you haven’t got anything that you wanted from TUI so you are venting your spleen on here. If they had refunded the cost of your holiday because of your gripes would you have left such a damning review……….. I doubt it. We did a trip on Explorer 2 earlier this year and it wasn’t the best regarding food, service, experience but at the end of the day you get what you pay for and you shouldn’t expect gold service for a brass fare. As you say β€œ there are plenty of other lines β€œ so it’s up to you where you spend your money.
  10. Who does them when you are not on a cruise.?
  11. To be fair showing an interest in what’s happened is normal if you are a present/past/future passenger. The only people that will have a true insight and opinion into what happened are the ones that were onboard at the time and Saga management. Perhaps we should just wait and listen to what they have to say.
  12. Good to hear mateπŸ‘πŸ» We are away xmas and new year, giving Saga a go. I think the ship is called….. Zimmer of adventure.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  13. All done from memory as well.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Hope you are keeping well Jim.πŸ˜‰
  14. Perhaps they were packing before the ship hit the storm, They were traveling towards home.πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Is it relevant..?
  15. Hi NN. Glad you are back home safe, Once again thanks for the excellent blog. We have received the 2025 information email today. keep well. 16. As Dronnygirl said there will be literally dozens of local taxi drivers at every port in the carribean waiting to take you on day trips. It’s not usually difficult to find another couple who will share your car and costs. Welcome to cruising, Hope you have a great trip.πŸ˜‰
  17. Fantastic blog, Thanks for sharing your trip with us all.πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Keep well.
  18. The ships lifeboats are used for tenders so any problems with them would be fixed pretty quickly I would imagine.
  19. Look at ID mobile, it uses the 3 network and Β£10 per month on a 30 day rolling contract gets you unlimited calls and texts and 10 gig internet which rolls over each month also keep your old number. plus Europe roaming.
  20. Someone is having you on.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  21. That review pretty much sums up our trip a couple of weeks ago. We were told that our preferred wine which was Arada rose wasn’t available in the MDR on a couple of nights, and I ended up going to the servers station and helping myself to the bottle that was clearly on show and available. The queue for the dining room was out past the lifts regularly and when we got to the desk we were handed a buzzer or we made our way to the buffet. As you said the staff are Marellas greatest asset as always. Food was ok, surf and turf excellent and the beach cove restaurant made a nice change, entertainment was ok. There was a really good pianist doing Billy Joel type songs. shows were same old, seen most of them before on Explorer. I think that we will be looking at other lines in the near future as we are finding the airport experience not the best lately so maybe try the Southampton departures. overall we enjoyed it because of the good itinerary and all of the good points onboard outweighed the moans. But you can definitely see where Marella are cutting back costs. Glad you enjoyed your holiday, keep well.πŸ˜‰
